So, when I wrote this blog I didn't really mean that I had 0 friends. I had 1 true friend - my best friend.

I first met him mid 2010. His name is Jae Hyun and when we first met, we instantly clicked. No surprise, it was because of StarCraft. He has still playing Brood War back then but then he switched to SC2 because of interest. We would talk about progamers like BoxeR, NaDa, July, FlaSh, Jaedong, and all the other greats from SC1. As he got into SC2, we started to talk more about SC2 progamers. I remember in when TSL 3 was going on, BoxeR played an epic series against Sen and we talked about it non-stop for a couple of days.

We also complimented each other rather well in academics. He was the math buff, topping the cohort every time there was a major test. However, his English was terrible and he scored a mere 52 when he first came into school. But slowly, as I coached him (and he coached me math and sometimes SC), he managed to achieve a whopping score of 73 in 6 months.

We had a very close relationship, we often went to LANs for BO3s and to Korean restaurants for lunch after school. He introduced me to this wonderful Korean noodle dish called Ja Jjang Mien (spelling?)

Anyway, to keep things short, we were best buds. But now, he has to move back to South Korea. He told me about this about 3 days ago. He said that his father had lost his job and could no longer fund his mom, sister, and him to stay in Singapore. =(

Bye Jae. Hope you train in Korea's PC Bangs so you won't get stomped by me next time we play.
Sigh. Sad times.

Aww man I understand how that feels...but hang on to hope!! Grab hold of it, and never let go. Who knows?! Maybe one day you two can get together again, have a drink, play some SC and talk about the good old times. With all the modern technology, keeping in touch shouldnt be much of a problem.

Good luck brother!! Keep smiling

It's called "jjajangmyeon" (similar, I believe, to the Chinese zha jiang mian?)

As for friends... you're still in school, right? Try out some new activity (competitions of some sort, perhaps?) that'll let you meet new people. (And I read your previous blog... you recognized that you were a jerk before, so stop it! If you're not a dick, you'll be able to make friends.)

Hah! I know right? There's this Korean girl from my school and none of us talks to her. Maybe I should to find out if she plays SC?!

Thanks for the advice. And yeah, it's similar to the Chinese dish =)

Yea. It's like that. LoL's the trend now, though, seems like the lower the skill ceiling the more fun a game is is the trend of nowadays.

I guess that is true ahaha. Games like Blackshot, SuddenAttack, etc.? FPS games mostly (other than CS)

I would instead like to suggest that casual gamers nowadays are looking for games that have a low skill ceiling (most probably sub-consciously) because the "need to be good" at a game. There really isn't more depressing and off-putting than being bad at a video game right? I mean, take the first game of Starcraft you played. You were probably torn apart at the fact that you SUCKED at something that is your passion - video games.

Or maybe they just don't have the time to commit to games like sc.

I was half expecting to see a story about MBC but was not unpleasantly surprised.

Anyway your best friend would have to go back eventually to do his NS =/

Awww...that's sad to hear. I read your last blog too, and I'm glad you realized your faults and are making attempts to change. Not long from now you and the friends you will make will be laughing at how stupid you - and they! - used to act. I know I do now. ^^ People change, you know~ It may not be the same, being friends long distance, but it's much easier than it used to be. Most of my friends are long-distance now, and I get on okay. I guess what I'm trying to say is hang in there. Have a hug. ^-^ -hug-

afaik, some chinese entrepreneur came to korea long time ago (during the occupation? or before) and made the dish tailored to korean tastes.

Anyways to OP, its not all bad. Having friends in other countries can be good. Just make sure to stay in touch.

Sadly, it isn't BW (Yet! Might get started on ICCup, he was a C+ Zerg before he switched to SC2.).
