For those of you who don't know who I am, my username is GenoPewPew and I am most famous for being on that TL article to win Fantasy GSTL (which didn't happen I'm still semi-pissed because I thought I deserved it the most) and I'm also responsible for this

That was from E3 last year and I'm planning to go again! Hopefully I get Media Badge this time around, I really want to get to do more than just browse the show floor and demo some products for companies that I'm already in contact with. I want to go to the back room to look at projects and to write reports about them to you guys.
A little bit about me, I'm the manager for Binary Gaming SC2's team, I am also the Tournament Organizer for the Sunday Evening Cup Series (SECS) for DOTA 2, and Caster for GosuGamers (soon to be transferred to tournament admin). Also, I'm currently a student studying Kinesiology to become an Occupational Therapist (working with stroke victims rather than the Ergonomics route) and I'm also going to be doing Business Management as well so I can run a nursing home and use some of what I learn in E-Sports. I also have signed a deal with Machinima real recently in hopes that I can spread the word of SC2 and DOTA 2 onto their network since they want to expand from just being a FPS brand.
I was once a competitive player for Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, Counter-Strike (actually played at the pro level for a bit), Marvel vs Capcom 2 (did this on the side while playing CS because I got burned out), and Defense of the Ancients somewhat. The only reason why I stopped pursuing trying to go full time pro gaming was because I had to sit and think about the valuable time that I was missing from being with my friends and all the other things I could be experiencing outside of the computer. I also had a long discussion with a few of my best friends and we all realized that going to college and getting the degree was far more important than trying to pursue something that is very temporary. At the time this was discussed, the economic recession was starting to hit and a lot of organizations were starting to downsize their divisions.
For the video blogs, the question that may be on your mind is "Why am I even doing this?" because it would seem like a giant waste of time. For me it isn't, I'm actually accomplishing one of the gaming dreams that I've had for awhile and I think for a lot of people that want to know what goes into organizing events, trying to find sponsors, and trying to start a gaming organization this is probably the blog for you. It also helps me keep a journal for when I need to look back and see what ideas I had and then try to build upon them with new knowledge. For other people, it's mostly a status update with the team and SECS to see where things are at. In one of the past vlogs, it does detail something about contracts and more of the vlogs will start to detail about the business and managing side of what I do.
I apologize in advance for the crap audio and I'm trying to get a new microphone to help fix that since I'm using some $15 Logitech headset. I also apologize about the length of the video blogs, I'll work on trying to be more concise the next time and I think I know how to do that.
Video Blog #3 is a small status update about SECS tournament and some small promotion opportunities that I have been getting. There is also some discussion about the streaming on z33k regarding DOTA 2 and I go into that quite a bit. I also go into the Machinima a little bit more and what some of the deal entails.
Video Blog #4 is my reflection of 2011 and how I tried to build the original Team oGd from the ground up and realized that it was a lot harder because I had almost nothing to work with. I also talk about trying to get sponsored by a brand that is known to house two of some of the best players in the fighting game scene and how that didn't work out. It also talks about what the team went through when we did join Binary Gaming. I also answer some questions about gaming in general and about how big the SC2 scene is in the US and how the popularity should not be based off of the recently NASL showing.
I also want to note that I'm not claiming to be the best at managing or tournament organizing but I'm just trying to get something done to the best of my ability and trying to take gaming as a whole as far as I can since it's been a part of me for so many years. It also does not reflect what other managers experience but it is a count of what I experience first hand.
Thank you guys for viewing, it really means a lot to me if you decide to follow what I'm doing and the progression of well everything. I will also answer and questions that you may have in this thread because I know there are some! Once I get a new mic and new overlays, I'll do another vlog!
