But, I should probably go on about how I discovered the pro scene in Brood War, and Teamliquid.
So, when I was ~3.5, Brood War came out, and me and my dad would play the campaign together with two cheats, showmethemoney and blacksheepwall. A few years later, ~2000/2001, he told me about Korean's who played this game like pros, I was a little young to remember a lot of this, but he explained to me how there was this white guy, Grrr.., who was playing in Korea, playing random at that, and about the players like Boxer, Garimto, Yellow. He found videos of the games every once in awhile, and I was so excited when I could see 2001 era play.
After the big Starcraft playing phase was over for me, my dad and I played a bunch of other RTS games, Red Alert 1, 2 and Yuri's Revenge, Age of Empires, even Warcraft I believe. All of those didn't have the same feel as Starcraft did to me, but me and my dad would play 1-2 hour long skirmishes at each other, after we beat the campaign.
In the 6th grade, my friends and I were over at my house, and they saw the Starcraft Discs, and asked me how long I've played, and if I was any good. They had the game too, and we played a few 1v1's on those horrible Blizzard maps. That year I got back into the Korean pro scene and found out about a site called teamliquid. I hardly ever visited that site, and could only watch Korean games every once in awhile.
From there its history, I watched consistently, from all of middle school. From the 3-0 of Stork, to Hydra winning MSL, SKT winning Winners League, Flash getting his Golden Badge, OZ, MBC Game, and WeMade Fox disbanning, MBC Gaming disbanning, KT winning the Proleague, Me falling asleep during Jangbi vs Fantasy games 1-4 and waking up in time to cry after Jangbi won. I'm surprised at how much can change in a year. BW battle report to come up later too <3 <3
EDIT:: Also winning my first PvZ, that was amazing, PvZ so hard TTTT
