So recently I have been doing free coaching for people (a ton of ppl... too many prob) with the goal of hopefully showing people my views of how coaching should be done and really truly teach people to get better and learn how to make themselves better.

I signed up with a new coaching site finegamer under the name orange and I'm looking to start building from here.

MY VIEWS OF COACHING

What I find lately with teaching is that there is 2 primary methods of teaching. The first method is specifics. This encompasses watching a replay and specifically picking out things in that game that apply to a point, such as macro better or micro better and how to handle a timing better. This is general knowledge mostly and is attained through constant gaming and observing the similar timings of attacks per race per opening.

The second method is goal/fundamental/mechanical coaching. This to me yields the greatest take from a lesson as it imparts methods that when used will automatically make you better as you play more. These are things such as creating timings for scouting that a person must adhere to or rules and habits that must be practiced every game at all times. By developing these "habits" you best set the foundations for future skill gains and learning. An example of this is its a good habit to pool larve in certain stages of a zvz if you are confused as to what your opponent is doing. By constantly building this habit you will now lose less zvz to random rushes or all ins.

A combo of the 2 styles is best but i feel the 2nd style is often neglected. My aim is to give you both of these in the best possible use to yourself. I often will give new players more of a mechanical and goal oriented lesson as well as a list (yes an actual list you write down and ref) and when they then improve and come back I now give them more specific instructions since they now are fundamentally sound

In the future I intend to create a replay pack that best exemplify as many given situations as I can as a nice visual aid to my lessons.

I believe I can teach this game better then most pros and I will be recording the lessons to show as such

As to my qualifications I have been r1 masters as every race while I fight gm level on my z account. Since switched to toss as a main race to better learn it and hopefully innovate with it.

review of first customer today - I just finished my first lesson and it couldn't have gone better. This was my first time receiving lessons, and even as a low diamond player I felt like I completely re-learned match-ups which I thought I was confident in. I would recommend Orange as a coach to anyone willing to dedicate time and effort into becoming a better, more solid and focused player no matter what level. During my lesson he emphasized the importance of knowing your scout timings and learning how to optimally react to your opponents build. Furthermore, Orange made clear the difference between builds that will get you the occasional win on the ladder, and solid builds that if executed well enough, will ensure you move up the ladder over time. Overall Orange was a terrific, well-educated coach who helped me spot weaknesses in my play as well as showed me how to resolve them. The lesson moved at a good speed, and there was no pressure to break things off early or pay for more time.

10/10

Awesome job man

planning on a second lesson

I just had a lesson with ohokurwrong and he was great. I'm a noob so he set me up with standard openings against each race. Then we went through a few replays, analised a few situations and talked about timings, game plans, and stuff. It was pretty good, I learned a lot of things, and will buy hours from him in the near future.

Just finished a lesson! I am a Diamond Zerg having trouble losing to people I know I'm better than annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's because I don't scout and react. I'm playing in the dark and it's time to shed some light!

We went over basic timings of all three races and a LOT of theory; more or less a good once over of ZvP, ZvT, and ZvZ, giving me things to work on and break my early game all in habit (It's soooo tempting vs FFE though) Although now, if you macro, I'm macroing harder.

I do feel like lesson #2 will be a lot more efficient. This was my first coaching experience. I'll be able to bring specifics into play when I work on scouting and interpreting, macro, etc with replays on hand for the next lesson. I'm looking forward to it!

Just took a class with you. You understand what a low lvl player needs to learn and you don't hand feed them the answers. You give them the tools they need to figure out what they need to do on their own at an accelerated speed and level. You have your coaching standardize and i feel if i have any questions in the future you till be the perfect coach to go too. Thanks for your time and effort you have put into your program.
