I was just sitting here jamming out to my music, and the thought just came into my head: It's been well over a year since Starcraft 2's release, and almost two years I have been playing (beta, of course). It's just blowing me away all the shit that's been gone through. The growing scene, but most specifically -- the balance/unit progression. Oh my god, am I the only one that remembers a lot of this stuff from the earliest days?
Remember that stigma of how a single Immortal made Roaches completely pointless? And then people were like, "Oh, just build more Roaches and we're fine."
Remember 5 rax reaper?
Remember how early access players were saying how broken Injects were early on?
Remember watching those 4 battle reports with David Kim? And when the Sentry was still called the "Nullifier" and shit? Also, when Zerg buildings look so much damn cooler. In fact, everything back then looked a lot "cooler" than it is now. How did that happen.
Remember when 1/1/1 was first found out, and it was so damn revolutionary for its time?
Remember when Immortals were warped in from the Gateway?
Remember seeing that green pylon in that Battle Report on Scrap Station and not knowing what it is? Yeah, I still don't know what the fuck that was supposed to be.
Hopefully with the upcoming HotS beta, we can get some similar memories for the future until the Protoss expansion comes up. Anyone else got memories like this though of the earlier days of SC2? It just feels weird, being "nostalgic" about Starcraft 2.

Remember when siege tanks one shot marines, and i think had better splash radius/damage (less reduction based on distance from primary target)?
That was fun. Sooooooooooo fun.
I can recall multiple times where me and a friend destroyed an ARMY of marines with 3-5 tanks in a volley or two

Nostalgic... about SC2???
Shit son, been playing BW since before the new millenium. I can break out some nostalgia for ya. 
Elitism aside, to me SC2 still feels incredibly new, probably because I've been following other games (such as BW of course) for MUCH longer. *shrugs*

Well yeah, of course. I got huge memories of BW that even shock me that I still remember them. However, I do have much love for this game <3

Completely unrelated side note, but I think someone went to all my blogs and just rated them one stars. Because like 10 minutes ago, they were all cool and shit, and I go back to get to check out my threads, and they were all super low. Like, a 5 star one from ~2 months ago was just dropped hardcore.

As a spectator, every time you see a huge shitstorm about balance it makes you take the next one a little less seriously. Same with drama. Same with SC2 vs BW.
It's funny how these things work themselves out. Starcraft will be Starcraft.

im with ETT, hard to feel nostalgic about sc2. however, seeing proleague at blizzcon made me nostalgic for sc:bw.

I still remember my beta builds!
PvZ: 1base voidray rush. EVERY. GAME. And after that stopped working 2gate zealots, haha xD
PvT: 1base 3gate robo immortal push (was a really good build on the old maps like steppes of war; and when everyones builds sucked so a strong push like that killed.
PvP: 4gate into DT--because everyone 4gated into more 4gate so i just went DT and killed people because everyone had terrible 4gate timing.

Haha, I remember going through threads of people complaining about what kind of cheese people were doing, so whenever I got on the ladder in beta, I just checked all those proxy spots to be sure... And 90% of the time there was a building there.

Ohh the nostalgia, I remember way back when naniwa 7porbe rushed nestea in the GSL blizzard cup and caused a huge shitstorm, those were the good old day. We were all so young and care free, just playing the game for the joy it provides. Not like now days, where all the young kids care about is money and power!

Remember the video where roaches had above ground regeneration and Dustin Browder commentating that seems like a distant memory now.
