I designed this image for a water mark on my photography pictures, my company name is NuPhoto, but I haven't gotten any feedback on facebook. I would really apprecitate it if you could simply answer the poll or leave comments if you can. NEW WATERMARK IN THREAD, READ THE COMMENTS FIRST VOTE ON THAT ONE INSTEAD OF THE LION HEAD

It's kind of difficult to read ![](/mirror/smilies/confused.gif)
I don't know if that is important but that is the only thing I can add. Perhaps it would be good to see how exactly you would use it?
|
This is how it would be used. To show ownage of a photograph I take and to make sure I get photo cred.
|
Yeah, I'll echo the sentiment that it's difficult to read. It should probably be simpler and easy to read at a glance. People are always going to focus on the main picture more than your watermark, so you should make sure that the main message can be picked up by a brief peripheral glance.

1. Its not legible. 2. Watermarks should translate well in low opacity, which means it should have strong outlines and minimal texture, mostly to have a professional look 3. Is that a lion? The overall design is just too messy. 4. Outer glows are so 1990 dude. 5. Make it simple and clear. Less colors would also be beneficial
|
It's too big and distracting. This makes it unprofessional, which is something I'm sure you don't want. It's not bad as a logo, but for a watermark you're better off going minimalist imo. So I'll call it garbage in terms of a watermark.

Maybe take out that grotesque lion head and surrounding glow. Just the words will look much better

garbage. too glaring in a bad way.

This guy hit the nail on the head with point 2 and 4.
But on top of that the image is just something you've taken from google image search for "Lion Head" and run the detect edges filter over, so that makes you look the opposite of professional.

removed lion and just words now thank you for the feedback.

That looks just fine with just the words. Before it was like someone barfed out a pile of silly string on top of an oil slick.

Yeah, I like it now. It's still a little distracting though but it's fine. Good job! ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
Edit: ever been to an art gallery? They usually have a lotttt of white space around each piece so the things around it are as minimally distracting as possible. If you've never been to one, just google "Art Gallery" and you'll see some examples. Here's one!
Notice all the white space. But here the art is still cluttered slightly, but it's acceptable. Here's a bad one:
And the Chicago Museum of Modern Art, for a good example:
Notice how there's only one painting per wall.
So I think you should take this into account when making your watermark. Make it minimally distracting. After all, you want people to see your amazing photography, right?
Hope this helps ^_^

I know I'm a little bit late but just the name is much better than having the logo
