Thanks for the write up. As a long time dota player I feel some 'true' RTS fans look down on the game as an inferior, less skilled product. While no game can match the demands of a Brood War, dota is extremely rich in strategy. I think this blog is a great jump start for new gamers looking to get their feet wet in dota and even teaches them a few tricks to boot.

I've been watching streams for a long time, but your videos and explanations did a ton for helping me to understand the game. I especially liked how you covered the Jungle in good depth, describing the difficulty of creeps, how to stack camps and stop others from doing so!

These were things that simply watching the game unfold in a stream could not teach me.

Yep, very helpful thread. I just hope (wishful thinking) that the community will be a bit less bm as it's in LoL where it's sometimes really appalling how often you get cursed at (or team mates). IdrA in SC2 is sometimes considered BM, in LoL, there's a million worse then him in that regard XD.
