As I was lying in bed, eating the food they gave me, the wound from the Slender Man started to burn. For a few minutes I just writhed in pain, and then I carefully removed my I.V. and ran out of my room. It was about one o’ clock at night, so there were only a few nurses and security guards around. I had been paced in the psychiatric ward because I had been apparently trying to convince the doctors that I was being chased by a monster, at least, that’s what it said on my chart. As I ran a nurse stepped out from behind her desk “Hey!” she shouted “Security, help!” Two large security guards ran around the corner and grabbed my arms. The nurse was running over to me with a needle full of what I thought were sedatives. As I struggled, my vision started to blur. I started to thrash as it began harder and harder to see. I looked down at my shoulder; the veins around the Slender Man wound were black. I started to get angry at the men holding on to me and thrashed even harder, as I did, I looked down back at my arm, all the veins leading down to my hand had turned black. I broke free of the guard that was holding my now blackened right arm, and threw the hardest punch I could. I hit him square in the forehead, and heard a crack. The other guard was stunned by what I did, so I took the opportunity and slammed my shoulder into him and sprinted away.
I ran towards the exit, when through the glass door, I saw It. I tried to stop but I was going to fast and ended up sliding on my back towards the door. I got up and ran in the opposite direction. As I ran the pain in my arm grew stronger, and started to spread. The veins on my chest started to turn black just like my arm. I made my way into the lower part of the hospital and found the morgue. I hid in one of the drawers. I tried not to yell as the pain spread all over my body. It was unbearable, I started to lose control over my arm and my chest started to become numb. What happened next was anyone’s guess, after an hour or so of lying there, I lost full control over my body, all I could do was lay there. The metal in the drawer acted as a mirror and I saw the blackness spread through out my entire body. The blackness finally reached my eyes, and I didn’t go blind, in fact, my vision improved, it was no longer blurry, and I could see everything with even more clarity than usual. After another hour, I saw the blackness recede back into the wound on my shoulder, and I regained control over my body.
I slid out of the drawer and vomited, hanging above me where the bodies of the dead in the morgue and the bodies of the nurses and security guards. It looked as if their chests had been torn open. Their organs lay neatly on the floor, as if someone tried to arrange them to go back in the exact way they came out. I staggered out of the room and I felt a terribly burning sensation in my chest, I looked down and saw it was one of the tentacle like things of the Slender Man, I looked up, and looked back. As I stand there, slowly bleeding to death, a voice kept repeating it’s self in my mind, it said “A hunt is no fun when the prey stops running, RUN!!!”
I jumped out of bed, and for a split second thought I saw the Slender Man. Had it all just been a dream? I wasn’t going to stay to find out, I undid my I.V. and walked to the front desk, no one was here. I grabbed all my things, and a laptop from the counter. I ran out into the parking lot and took someone’s car.
I have no idea if what I saw was real or it wall just a dream, but the fact that there was no one on call at the hospital leads me to believe that it all happened, but how, I had died, did the Slender Man revive me just so that he can toy with me, or did I just imagine the last part, about me dying? I’m not sure of anything right now; all I know is that I have to keep moving.
I’ll make it a point to keep on an eye on my shoulder; I desperately hope that I imagined what had happened to my body. I’m headed to Washington D.C. maybe the library of Congress would have something on record there. I just don’t know what else I can do.
