EPTI've faced some problems along the way: I actually got demoted to silver, came back after a couple of days, struggled for builds and struggled with builds.
Right now things don't look bad, although it's quite hard to tell how exactly they look.
I've had mixed luck with my match-ups, from getting a lot of Slightly Favoured opponents, including platinum, to playing against silver players a lot after losing to the plats (which I regarded as another attempt at demotion just because I wasn't good enough to be promoted further at that moment), right now I'm sitting on a win streak of 6 with a tendency for win streaks before that, although a lot of the opponents have been silver and very few plat. I wonder what's going on and where this will lead since I'm getting a lot of win streaks and currently a big one and not really getting any huge MMR opponents as it would seem (the last one was silver, although not noticeably weaker than my gold opponents). Perhaps I just need to make up for some losses from the past. Perhaps the system was just providing me with games rather than bothering itself with my placement.
What's good is that it seems I'm winning more than losing and finally my builds seem to be working. It also seems I'm about to finish the season in Top 25 gold. That's #16 or so right now (and it took me time to regain the number of points I had a while ago, due to previous losses) but I suspect things are going to get rough in two days. I'll probably need to play and win some to stay in Top 25 but should be able to do it.
I previously finished Season 1 in top 25 silver. I then finished Season 2 in top 8 silver and placed gold in Season 3. So now I'm finishing in top 25 gold. Perhaps, then, two more seasons and I'll make it to plat? Sooner if I keep playing more often than I did back then? Not like this matters that much but a goal is a goal. It's much better to meet it than not to meet it.
What's new is that, unless I forgot something, for the first time ever I seem to have stopped caring about bonus points and I just play and play, getting my points from unaugmented win trophies. And they go up, not down. Which is great. Not like they can't start falling again any day but probably not that horribly much after all.
Wonder what other people's expectations of the coming season are. Actually, I do wonder where I'll place. I certainly will be happy to see the end of the crazy season lock period though.
