Tribes Ascend Fan Art Contest?

Sort of akin to my previous blog with the Zelda fanart (almost done, but on hold to finish this one for the competition). I saw this link in my facebook news feed the other day (http://forum.globalagendagame.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=234&t=42410&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=0) and i figured i'd give it a shot. I've been playing the starseige tribes series since its inception back in 1998 <3 So having grown up with the game and spent my entire childhood learning how to lead shot and stuff, i naturally have a very large fanboy bias backed up for this series.

So when I saw this announcement for a contest i instantly jumped on it right away so i guess i'll keep the WIP posted here as i work on it. Unlike my zelda one, i have a time constraint this time to finish it within 20 days, so expect a nice shiny version up by the 31 at the latest.

Update:
-Updated leg armor
-Started on the helmet
-Laying down some rough design for pauldrons
-increased belt size, will add ammo pouches later
-Cleaned up neck brace, detailed eagle emblem on chest

-still haven't touched the helmet yet, doing some drafts on scrap paper to see how i wanna design it but stay true to their design of the male armor.
-trying to rethink the armor on her legs and come up with something for the gloves

I think its a little bit too skimpy to really count as "armor". And if they allow color you should definately color it...it would look much better in blood eagle red.

I for one am always highly amused at the hot girls in "battle armor" that is clearly designed for turning on their enemies as apposed to being designed for protecting ones body from enemies. If your gonna go the sex over practicality route you might as well buff up those funbags to double D.

Energy shields. All we need is a shield generator and then we can be as nude as we want and still receive full protection!!! :p

At OP, I played a bunch of Tribes 2 as a kid, and it was lots of fun. Your drawing looks pretty cool, interested to see it finished.

I'll definitely color it. I have a couple things in mind to make it look glossy and texture up the black suit she's wearing under the armor

yes, butt cheeks. its what happens when girls have skinny legs~
