Getting a new laptop

Hey,

I've had my current laptop for almost 3 years now, and the screen just failed and I've been having a lot of battery problems and it's just been pretty bad for a few months now.

With the screen going out I decided I'm not going to put any money into it anymore so I've decided I'm better off buying a new laptop.

I'm pretty much just looking for a laptop that I can use for school, and play a bit of SC2 and D3 whenever that comes out, and some emulated games. So other than SC2 and D3, the only heavy stuff I'll be using is CAD, either solid edge or AutoCAD. The rest is just doing reports in word processors and spreadsheet programs.

I really am not looking to spend a whole lot of money, but obviously I want something that is quality and will take me another 3 or so years to replace.

Get the first or third one

The second and fourth uses integrated graphics

third one's cpu seems pretty weak though
1.65GHz dual core

You should probably be aiming for a 2nd gen intel processor (ix-2xxx) with dedicated graphics (probably a GT 525 or 540).

Not sure about diablo3 system requirements but these are two pretty good options at your pricerange:

I recently got a new laptop for 675. Lenovo with i5, 2gb ram, nvidia geforce gt555, 500 7200, 14" (ideapad 470?)

Try to beat it! Also ram is dirt cheap. I ended up buying 8gb for 30 or something.

Thanks, looks like the lenovo is what I'll be going with, jumping from the i3 to the i5 will I see a large difference in performance for games? I don't care about playing on low settings as long as the fps is good.

I would recommend www.notebookreview.com, you can get some great recommendations just make sure you double check in the owners lounge before you buy any laptop and trust people with a lot of posts. I've spent a lot of time on the forum and you should at least make a post about it, it's pretty solid.
