You know those viruses that pose as anti-virus protection? Well one of them got into my computer and took over nearly EVERYTHING. This one was especially evil because it wouldn't let you disable it so that you could get anything done. I had to perform a system restore to get it out but doing so screwed up my SCII files. You know what this means? I have to completely reinstall SCII, which will take forever. I sincerely believe I am giving off SMOKE right now; that is how angry I am.
What's worse is that I got this from an ad THAT I DIDN'T EVEN CLICK ON. You want to know why I use adblock plus? NOW YOU KNOW. No more exceptions, no more whitelists, after this crap I am blocking EVERYTHING. Problem is that with Firefox 7, EVEN PUTTING IN THE CODE TO BLOCK EVERY AD EVERYWHERE DOESN'T WORK. You have to put in the specific site to make it work but if you do THAT, it completely screws over the site display. I'm ripping out my hair, climbing the walls, and am about ready to smash something.
Not to mention the only comment I got on my blog YESTERDAY was from someone who didn't even read it. "Cute cats!" he says. YEAH WELL THOSE CUTE CATS DIED - READ BEFORE YOU POST.
-intake breath now- Capslock is cruise control for cool; even with cruise control you still have to steer...calm down, calm down. Think happy thoughts. Happy, happy thoughts. Butterflies and cotton candy and...I CAN'T DO THIS I AM SO FREAKING MAD RIGHT NOW!!!! -smashes random fragile object-
It doesn't help that I had ANOTHER cat abuse nightmare.

It seems you need more the noscript addon than the adblock addon. Noscript will block all those stuff by default, without screwing the layout, then you can either allow a page, a domain, a single thing by clicking on it.

You should use opera anyways bro.

Cute cats!
Er, I mean fuck Firefox

I've never seen a virus infect a computer automatically, you have to "download" the virus for it to be in your computer. (At home, not in a network environement)
Also I've never seen a URL that "install" a virus, after following the url, you have to click on something to download it. If you want to prove me wrong, please send me a url of a virus.
These kind of things can be frustrating but a forced clean up of your computer can only mean it will be fresh clean afterwards

I disolve one of them one time but I have not now the time to read your post and help you more. Maybe later. You can search thought via google engine and try using as keyword the name of the program that it claims to be or the errors that it gives you. It is not hard to get rid of it but σταυ calm.

As a proud technologically impaired individual i've used Mac for a long time, just so I don't have to think about that virus nonsense.
Also, complaining about the amount of replies you got to your last blog isn't a good idea - makes you look whiny and stupid if I am to be perfectly honest. Just accept that your blog didn't get much attention, and get over it.
I understand the frustration of losing all your shit though, just makes you wish you could strangle whoever did it -_-' just like blogs, you get over it though. Read some of Day[9]'s old blogs (just google search day9 blog) and you'll see he got pissed too, flamed people who griefed him on ICCUP or bnet 2.0 through a blog.
It's just random emotions though. You could take a pill to make you feel like that, or feel the opposite. Just sit, or lie down until you've calmed yourself.

Use google chrome maybe?
damn dude sucks. thats never happened to me before when i used to use firefox (random virus gets in when i didn't even click on pop-up) google chrome switch was pretty good. faster, and i can open up like 1000000 tabs without chrome lagging, unlike in firefox where that happened periodically.

I use google chrome + chrome adblock. You whitelist sites individually, as it blocks ALL ads at first. TL is the only website I see ads on, now. Also, sme as the above guy said. I literally have 29 tabs open right now, and chrome is fine.

While not technically a virus, iframe hacks (cf. Wordpress iframe hacks) will allow a website to infect a computer without the user noticing.

also, it's okay to feel some rage for some time, just don't destroy anything important or you'll regret it - trust me

Yeah... I don't often watch WHAT EVER SPORT I FIND ON TV. but there are some moments... when I will settle for watching cars drive circles for 2 hours and be perfectly happy with it.

I hate those types of viruses. Usually they're pretty weak and easy to get rid of. Two summers ago I got a similar virus that wouldn't let me open anything. Ugh, frustrating stuff.
Just relax and clean up your computer. It'll be nice and fresh when you're done :D
Also definitely switch browsers (chrome!)

I have yet to see this happens.
Basically windows update + security essentials and lastest version of your favorite browser should keep you safe.

This actually made me cry with laughter.
