A new season has begun. I lost my dayjob. And my play has gone absolutely nowhere.
I've been out of practice. Previously, wearing about a half-dozen different hats on the job was consuming a lot of my time. I no longer have that excuse, and have been skirting around the issue of my problematic play since getting let go.
Thankfully, Day[9] returned to his daily today. He brought back Newbie Tuesday and, bless him, answered a question I asked: "How does one choose where to start improving on the mental checklist?"
I do have one, after all, which I put together during his last NT stint and tried to apply after doing stage 1 and 2 of the Accelerated Learning for Terrans (by the way, volunteers to help me with stage 3 at some point?). It sits on a post-it next to the reminder that I should write 1000 words that aren't in a blog every day.
1. How's your cash?
2. How's your food?
3. Are you building SCVs?
4. Are you building dudes?
Given Day[9]'s advice that one should "JUST PICK SOMETHING", I'm going to spend my next 15-20 games just building SCVs. I want to make sure I never miss one. I suspect I will lose every single one of those games, but as long as I'm always building SCVs, it shouldn't matter to me.
Encouragement is appreciated, and I will post again after those games are complete. Which, hopefully, will not be another two and a half months.
