I have discovered a new perspective on this game. Well, rather on my gameplay. I'm pretty good at straight up games. Today I won three games in a row against a protoss, a zerg, and a terran. But then I lose to things like bunker rushes and proxy pylons in my base. Not outside my base. In my base. Which makes me feel like a total moron. Also, sometimes when J would play, he would get all worked up about someone cheesing him, like six pool or whatever and I would be like, dude calm down! I got six pooled the other day and I flipped. I was sitting in my empty apartment yelling about how stupid that was. Later on I was talking with J about it and he was like, you know you can prevent that by making a wall. Duh.
It's amazing how differently you look at something from the inside as opposed to from the outside. When I wasn't playing, I didn't really comprehend things like how cheesing is annoying and how you can have one matchup that you totally suck at. Now in just the short time of playing, my viewpoint on a whole bunch of SC2-related things has completely evolved. And you know what? I love this game! It's so much more awesome than I thought it was! I get all excited when I win and then when I lose I want to know exactly what I did wrong so I can not do it again. I've always been a nerd, but it's been about other things. It's pretty cool to discover something new that I can be nerdy about.

Edit: Strike the first bit, I'm actually silver. Apparently they move you down a little at a time.....if I'm playing a zerg and I make the wall with the zealot, what happens when I need to be able to move between my main and natural? Do I kill one of the buildings that make up the wall?
