My room is currently being renovated(?) by my dad. He likes to renovate things even though he sucks at it. I don't know but I think my dad being Asian might have something to do with it. He just sucks at doing these chores as he has 2 left hands.
So I'm sleeping in my old room which is like 2.5mx3m (like 8 by 8 feet ~?). The bed is like a dunk bed except the bottom part is where the desk is with my computer on it and the top part is my bed. This room is like a nightmare for everyone I know that visited my place xD
All of the problems were done by my dad because he wanted to "renovate/repair" the house.
Examples: - In order to have electricity in this old room the lights always needs to be turned on else there won't be electricity for my TV and computer (annoying during the day and wasting extra energy consumption). - The bed has no rails so the likeliness of falling off is quite huge and the height of the bed is at about 5"10 in height (I once fell off and it hurts ). - The window has a small opening and whenever there's a wind or when it's raining it wil pass through and gush right to your head which will keep you awake all night long when it's windy outside. When it's raining it feels like you're sleeping outside. My dad put this rail at the window which keeps the window open and I'm not allowed to remove this rail. - You need to use a ladder to get on my bed (LOL) because my dad put the bed in the wrong position so the ladder of the bed can't be used since it's against the wall.
Now I have 3 options laid down by my parents. 1. Sleep in the old room but I'm affraid of falling off. 2. Sleep in my current room which is being renovated (but currently everything is being renovated so you won't be able to sleep properly as the walls will be painted in few hours (I'm going to sleep in about 10 hours I guess so don't know if this will matter) and my parents say something that it's unhealthy to sleep when the walls are just being painted. 3. Take a matras and sleep below at the store when it's closed (house is on top of my parent's store) which has cooling freezers so it's basically roughly 5 degrees celcius constantly.
I can't sleep in the living room because my mother is sleeping there. My dad snores in his sleep which keeps my mom awake all night and myself included and he takes the entire bed when he's sleeping (and I don't want to sleep in my parent's room LOL).
I'm also affraid of what he's going to do with my current room as everything that he's done in the house gets worse whenever he gets his hands on and being the Asian father he is. He won't listen to me as every Asian guy will probably recognize why LOL.
I'll be putting a poll here to see what the community think I should be doing. Any other suggestion is welcome
Poll: Where should I sleep?Old room (6) 40% Downstairs at the store even though it's cold (4) 27% None of the above LOL. (4) 27% Current room (1) 7% 15 total votes Your vote: Where should I sleep? (Vote): Old room (Vote): Current room (Vote): Downstairs at the store even though it's cold (Vote): None of the above LOL.

Sounds like it is a simple solution. Buy a case of energy drinks or drink coffee non stop. Never fall asleep and help him with the "renovations" until they are done, and then crawl into your bed and go to sleep.

At the store, i LOVE it when its cold when im going to sleep. Just bring some nice thick blankets so you stay warm under it. But surrounding temperature of 5 degrees is nice.

sleep at a friend's house

Fix your old room Macgyver style and sleep there.
Or Kralic's option but the cons are that you need to work on your room, and you will be very tired afterwards.

I'm going to help my dad painting after he's done with all the repairs. He's quite slow but if I help him out We'll be done in few hours and I'll be able to sleep afterwards. But right now he has to fix some stuff. My dad somehow cemented the outlet where the electricity comes out so I don't have any power in that room if he doesn't remove it quickly.
Gotta pay attention to what my dad is doing before he screws my room lol.

How long is your room being renovated for? If it's just a few days I would just sleep on a couch.

I would ask a friend or just sleep at the store. It will be like the ultimate survival.

It is supposed to be for a week but I made my dad not repair everything he wanted because most of the repairs are not really needed. So if my dad is done fast with the repairs that are needed (like ceiling is leaking and due to a storm there's a big crack in the wall next to the window) etc. Then I would be able to sleep very late at the night or tommorow.

that's so weird, how do you fall off a bed? is it a super tiny bed or something? I just find it so strange.. I've never fallen off a bed, even a tiny moving/shaking bed with no rail (ever go on an overnight train trip?)

Depends on the store. Sounds like a toko (Asian and freezers ) so then I would definately sleep in the store. Perfect for a midnight snack :p

Basically the bed is sitting in the middle of the room. I can fall off both sides. For me not to fall off I have to sleep still because if I roll over or just move a bit atleast an arm and a leg will be off my bed.
Edit: Got onto Windows Bootcamp to start up MSPaint to show how my old room looks like.
As you can see and was explained before :p There is no rail at the side of my bed so if I just roll over I will fall off and this has happened before

And yes I could go for a midnight snack if I happen to be hungry.

Shannn, you are one kickass drawer. :D <3
You should sleep in the bronze practice room, dude.

Alright. Do you have a (good) sleeping bag? If yes then I would go with the store, since 5 degrees is still fine in a good sleeping bag. If not I would go to your old room and fix your bed + window ^^
Or, depending where you live you could ask some tl members with spare space

I'm halfway done with painting my room. I'm just going to sleep downstairs with the freezers on :p 5 degrees isn't as bad as the other conditions :D My mom gave me 2 sheets of thick sleeping bags and told me good luck in Vietnamese LOL! I can sleep normal again tommorow so 1 day downstairs should not be a problem
