EPTMLG Anaheim!
or how we all fell in love
It’s only a day now, before the wrath of a thousand voices scream across endless battlefields as armies raised by generals, gods even - clash against one another. With lightning speed and reflexes decisions are made, the race for triumph and glory will begin!
And there can be only one!
As a year of Starcraft 2 has come to an end, it begins the next one with booming hurrahs, roars of the crowd as warriors from all across the world meet head to head, like ancient gladiators of the electronic world to prove who, who is truly worthy to bare the name Champion! [insert epic roman gladiator crowd here, raawr!]
Major League Gaming in Anaheim I anticipate will be the most epic and fun tournament in a year filled with amazing, truly amazing tournaments. Feats no one thought would be possible, as Naniwa, HuK and QXC proved – was made reality. I am slightly humble of the thought that I, will be present. Perhaps not on location but I get to take part with so many of my kind - fans - on streams that air this fantastic event. Lead by casters we all know and love, and some new friendly faces. It will be the first appearance for Husky to cast live at an MLG event and alongside him, someone I am sure we will see much more of – MrBitter (to whom I made an excellent interview with, check it out he's awesome!).
It is also the premiere for many a new Koreans at MLG; fighters from faraway land with mystical apm powers, game play that is thought to be immortal and unreachable. But as of late we have seen those once god like men be taken down by mere mortals. HuK, QXC.. even Destiny brawling down Bomber with brute force (and a shitload of infestors).
This year truly anything can happened, the names that appear this time around has no real comparison in our short but intense Starcraft 2 history outside of GSL. Dreamhack Summer did provide some, and was a tournament I will remember forever. But now.. DongRaeGu. Oh man my heart, it is like remembering long lost love. Something that you once knew, held dear and praised to the skies but no longer have. DRG at MLG, could it become any more beautiful? Could it be, that we will see HuK and Naniwa duke it out versus DRG? Yes! Yes it can! This be true!
And then we haven’t even talked about the open bracket.. Which it is so unfortunate that it will not be cast or streamed. The logistical problems to do this is understandable and, acceptable. But still, I imagine we are going to miss out on some of the best games that might ever will be played at MLG Anaheim. I truly hope they will release a replay pack so we can all gloat over them, discuss them, watch them.. embrace them.
I find it hard to describe how much I am looking forward to MLG Anaheim.. But a lot..really a lot. I hope you are to, you friend who as I unfortunally can not go and watch it live. You friend who I will sit and discuss games with on IRC, on the forums, on stream chat or Skype. I am but a humble fan, a day away from watching legends perform. Creating heart breaking drama, cruel ends and legendary GG’s!
Fuck man, I can’t wait! LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED YO!
