The new addition has caught many off guard; while many had imagined that recent trial candidate Wolf would be a safe bet, Gom has bowed to pressure from an increasingly vocal movement within the company in favour of non-heteronormative alternative casters. This same faction is widely considered to have been responsible for the questionable makeup applied to progamers during this season’s promotional photography.
Does this season's progamer makeup go too far or not far enough?
The move to what has been considered a less cisgender-centric casting duo seems an open acknowledgement of the growing concern within the community that esports has too long been a male-dominated arena, intolerant of both femininity and alternative approaches to gender.
Clearly then, GomTV’s hope is that its newly introduced caster might solve all of these issues at once. The new addition to the GSL cast is to be Nicola "Tasty" Plott, whose startling good looks have caught players and commentators alike off guard.
The fan response to Tasty has already been immense, with some willing to part with their domicile for a chance to lay eyes on the bright eyes and rosy cheeks of esports.
Soon to be co-caster Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski commented:
Nicola is a truly handsome specimen, and I look forward to getting to know her more intimately as this season continues. Where Kelly had been hesitant with high-fives, Nicola’s unusually large hands are just perfect.
Dare I say it, could this be love?

With tensions and emotions running high, this season’s GSL finals should prove very interesting indeed. Could this be the first plasma blossom of a new casting archon? Only time will tell.
Nick “Tasteless” Plott was unavailable for comment at the time of writing, but this post will be updated as word arrives.
