So those who know me know I am a huge comic/graphic novel geek and with ComicCon going on right now, there is a ton of great news. Now, overall, I do not like comic con because it has become so Hollywood. The actors get tons of stage time and push the actual artists and creators out of the lime light a lot, but oh well, we still have the Alternative Press Expo to really highlight these guys.

Anyway, there was a few tidbits of news that I am excited to hear.

1. A new book from Legendary Comics by Paul Pope. It is a big anthology of his art. If you have not read his book "100%", you have to check it out. He is a wonderful creator.

2. A new comic series, also from Legendary Comics by one of my heroes, Matt Wagner of Mage and Grendel fame. This will be a new ongoing series. I have not heard if Matt is doing the art as well as writing or if he is just writing, but I hope that he does the art and his drawings and paintings are beautiful.

3. They announced the winners of the Eisner Awards and some of the nominees that I was rooting for won. Mainly "Mouse Guard" winning for best anthology, "Return of the Dapper Men" and "Wilson" both winning for best new graphic novel, and the great Harvey Pekar being voted into the Hall of Fame.

Congrats to the winners and to the new books. I am excited.
