Since I am gonna work on E-Book tablet troubleshooting as a job, I was provided with a Nook color to give it a whirl. I played my share of Angry Birds, Sudoku, played around the settings to find out what does what, though most importantly, I checked on the e-books the Nook has to offer. Much to my disappointment, Fighting Fantasy is only available on paper-back. I kinda have taken a liking to that book, really. Although I did pick up some really good ones within the selection: The first few books I got were basically Starcraft novels, specifically the Dark Templar Saga, The Queen of Blades, and Heaven's Devils; Warcraft's Lord of the Clan's novel; and the most interesting book of the bunch: Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture. In case you don't know what it is, it's basically a book that tells the stories of John Carmack, John Romero and id Software.

Reading the books I got was time well-spent if you ask me. I practically skipped break times just to finish one chapter without any distractions. It's a shame that since the Nook I am using is a company one, I cannot bring it home with me. Kinda sad, really.

I could buy a Nook for myself, but I can't order anything online as I require an American IP Address to even attempt an order for myself, though I could just jailbreak my own Nook or something.

What did you think of the Starcraft novels?

I read them like dirty pleasures in the long years waiting for SC2 and though I admit they are quite cheap and terrible if they were to stand on their own, I read them like mad at the time.

It was hard to decide which book I wanted to start out first. I did however read the Dark Templar saga since I wondered what the heck was Zeratul doing after the Brood Wars

Says near the bottom that a few of the books were released for the i... platforms (which have the wrong kind of screens for reading books). It should probably be possible to get those and rip them into a universal format, if it isn't already in one.

In my line of work, I will be using Nooks a lot. In time, I might be able to afford a decent e-reader.

Dude, Nooks are awesome. I've been reading so much just because I got a Nook, it's amazing. The convenience of having so many books at your fingertips is astounding. And I never thought that pressing a button instead of turning a page would make it so much easier to read.

I am aware, man. Reading and managing their books is pretty neat. I just wish the support of Nooks is more open. Though that might possibly happen if Barnes and Noble shops are spreading worldwide or something

You can "buy" or even buy books outside of their network in the formats it supports and then drop them on the device and they will work. At least all the other e-book readers work that way.

If you are going to get things from outside of their formal network I recommend the program Calibre for handling your collection. Its autoconvert function is very good.
