An e-Sport life changing experience
This is not just another "THANK YOU XXXX FOR BEING AWESOME" post. I'm here to share my vision, my thoughts and my passion for e-sport with all those that might feel the same way I do.
I was born in Chile and then lived in Paraguay until my 15's and in 2000 my life changed drastically and a new variable was included, e-Sport in Brazil. Before that I only played for fun, gathering some friends to play Golden Eye and then go for a refreshing lemon juice and chocolate cake.
This is not Chile, but in Brazil you might find those
For me e-Sport was about meeting friends at Lan Houses, having some beers hidden from mummy and staying up late playing like a maniac just to be the first on the score screen and during the weekend me & my team-mates played some tournaments and for 1 year we won 9 CounterStrike tournaments in a row in Fortaleza-Brasil.
So what is e-Sport for me ?
e-Sport isn't only a concept that means competition in front of a screen, playing for a medal, playing, playing & playing. It also means something very important that I've seen Day[9] say on his Stream when SC2 was recently launched, it means what Tasteless and Artosis say almost every time they talk about SC2 when they cast, twitt, or just go into a talk show.
e-Sport is about competition, but it's also about community,
- A similarity or identity
- A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals

I bet 50% of those nerds haven't ever seen each other and 90% of them now hang out together.
Yes, community exist also out of e-Sport, but what I've learned to love e-Sport thanks to it's community and I've learned to love the community thanks to e-Sport.
My biggest friends and the ones I trust like brothers are those who were with me in Brazil when I learned about e-sport, are those who appeared on my lonely 19's birthday out of nowhere and they were from the Warcraft 3 Chilean community, are those who believed in me to run the first Starcraft 2 Latinamerican 100% dedicated e-Sport community.
Why gamers look like 15's when they have 19's!! Warcraft 3 community 2004
'¡Pocos pero Locos!' 6 years later, nobody plays WC3 anymore and we have finally learned how to talk to girls YEAH!
But this post is far from over, because e-Sport became global, e-Sport changed to video streaming faster than any other market, companies must now care about Service Quality to the 50K viewers that follow each tournament every year.
And I changed into something I never thought I could become. A damn freaking caster.
If it wasn't for Day[9] dailies I wouldn't even tried to be a caster. He is cool, he is funny, he have this on his Twitter:
"Learn lots. Don't judge. Laugh for no reason. Be nice. Seek happiness."
¡What a heartbreaker!
And after trying for the very first time to cast, in Portuguese beacuse I just felt like to and that community knew me from 2002, I started to watch every single GSL. Oh! and the day finally came. Tasteless & Artosis, two guys I've never seen before, but one of them was Day[9]
Tastosis the casting archon made my night everytime I wanted to watch the GSL VOD's while having dinner and I couldn't even eat right because I laughed at every single silly, stupid and awesome jokes they made about everything.
Who else could do that on TV ?
I wanted to finish this blog on a very nice fashion way but right now I have a meeting with my teacher for my last exam on university.
I wish you all a good read and never, ever forget about the community and the power of e-Sport.
Thank to all those who have worked hard and overcame many troubles to give it a shot and try to live out of e-Sport.
Good Luck & Good Night.
