So... apparently I have to go to summer school this year for Global History.
But here's the conundrum... the only reason why I failed was because I was sick for most of the year and I was actually taking AP European History rather than normal Global History, thereby falling behind in the advanced material and not doing so well on most of the tests. However, when I took the Regents exam for Global History, I aced it with a 97.
Do you think I will be able to convince my teachers to give me all the tests for the year in one day rather than having to sit in a hot summer class with kids that I clearly don't belong with in a class where I already know all the material? Could someone give me some pointers on talking with them?

Why not just skip every day instead of test days if you're that confident? It's what, 3-4 max?

IDK about summer school but I'm guessing it's the same.
OP, try talking to some counselors about what you can do

After the AP exam, we were just doing regular regents material (the stuff I actually need to know and pass) and I got 95's and up on every test except for one, but it was only because I skipped bubbling one answer and that messed me up for the rest of the test, ending up with a 75 on that test.

I was under the impression that summer school is not part of the public system and wasn't held to the same rules for attendance. I have to admit this is just a guess though.
Are you going to your school for it, or is it a separate building that is a dedicated summer school?

Sorry I had to do a double take when I saw your name to make sure I wasn't unconsciously blogging.
It doesn't hurt to ask the dean or whoever is in charge to see if he/she can help you out. As long as you articulate that you fully understand all the material you're supposed to know, you might be able to sway that person.

You only need to take the AP exam to get college credit, so if you don't care about the hit to your g.p.a just don't take the class again?
edit: nvm it looks like you took a different test, not the AP exam. I know in my high school if you talked to your teacher or department head they can usually work something out; our school offered placement exams that were basically the end of term exams and if you passed you got credit for the class.

Hahaha... Cynical and MrCynical. Who'd win? Showmatch! =P
In terms of your issue, sounds kinda sucky. I had a buddy who did summer school one year, and said it was really really really easy. He was able to ram though everything 'at his own pace' which meant he finished in 2 days. Granted, I'm sure it varies from place to place and instructor to instructor.

Fuck that man, talk to whomever you can Counselors/teachers/dean/anyone that you think might help you. Summer school sucks, especially if you live in a place that's 100+ everyday. Try anything you can, even if you have to resupply them with the doctors notes you got. Get your doctor on the phone and have him vouch for you or something! TRY EVERYTHING you can! I really feel for you because I hate this heat.

I actually did both the AP Euro exam (which I took because I took AP Euro) and I took the Global Regents exam, which is required by my state. I don't know how I did on the AP Euro exam because the results don't come in for a while but I do know that I essentially aced the Global Regents exam.
What I'm planning on doing is trying to get them to give me all the tests in one day or as someone above me said, let me do things at my own pace (AKA 24 hours) LOL

that's weird. in my school as long as you do well on the regents you are fine... even if you did fail the class.
I went to school in new york too and the regents was only a part of our grade, you could still fail the course.

Talk to the counselors.
But sometimes you're forced to go to summer school because some states require you to have X number of hours physically being in class. I remember one year at my high school an entire graduating class had to sit through an extra day of school after it let out because the school district fucked up scheduling and they didn't have the state required number of hours for graduation. If that's the case, you're out of luck and will simply have to sit through summer school.
But again, talk to the counselors, explain your position nicely (if you bitch at them they'll be much less likely to go your way) and maybe they'll let you skip it.

Yes, I plan on going in tomorrow early so I can explain my position and propose a solution.

Yea I loled at that. High five man.
Note: if you got 97% on this test, but failed the course, I think you can definitely make a valid argument.
