I personally love playing team games more cause I can relax a bit more than constant pressures of "omfg I have to win" in a 1v1. If you get used to 2v2 you'll have fun, however, if you're a really dedicated 1v1 player, becareful. I know that for me, when I play too much team matches and then transition to 1v1, I end up making careless mistakes because it is so much easier to play team games than on your own. Less multitasking, less stress, less everything. Don't let your 2v2 affect your 1v1

The first way is to always try and win, in which case it's a lot like 1v1, just with a lot more possible strategies (due to race interactions and unit combinations). For this you shouldn't play with random teammates as you will get frustrated quite a lot. The second - and far more fun - way is to just play for fun, do some crazy stuff or simply off-race. You will lose a lot more, but the losses are less frustrating while the wins are 10 times more satisfying. If you want to play that way - as do most 2v2 players - you can play with random teammates and just do whatever you want. You will have some very annoying teammates and probably be called "noob" quite a lot (even by people who let the opponent build cannons behind their main mineral line), but well, who cares as long as you are having fun and trying new things :p

Seeker is right, make sure you take a break or something before switching to 1v1 of play 1v1 first, because you will struggle otherwise. You can afford to focus more on fun with a teammate's support. I see that you're from the Philippines, but since you played with a Canadian friend, perhaps you can get in contact with the NA server. If you want to add me for some 2v2, I'm Darclite.257.

AUS and SEA versions of SC2 are the only ones that can play on NA servers.

Map awareness is also really necessary since you have to pay attention to four people at once.
