EPTMy zerg play day 3&4 (What people seem to like)
Ridiculous Tasty & Cheap Filipino Fusion Food
A Baseball game featuring an annoying drunk directly behind me, burns from fireworks, an overweight couple sitting next to an anorexic woman, and only homeruns scoring points. Oh, and $1 tennis balls.
Oh, and the annoying drunk guy. I'll try to divide this up :D
Zerg Day 3
ZvZ. Hold off baneling all in. Repeatedly. Move out with roach hydra, kill him
ZvT: get shitton of mutas, kill with only mutas off of 4 base to 2.
ZvP: Guy 3 gate expands, but then cancels nexus. Oh no, it's really a fourgate. But then he warps in 4 stalkers on a forward pylon which I snipe. Before the stuff warps in. And I hold. After he brings my natural to liike 250 health I counterattack, cleaning up. And then win. He ragequits
ZvT: Close positions metal. Guy bunkerrushes. I lose
ZvT: I forget my pool, and get bunkerrushed by like 6 scvs. Lose
ZvZ: Speedling all ined
ZvZ: overproduce speedlings at beginning, overrun roaches and win. For some reason I have no idea why I'm winning or losing any of my matches.
ZvZ: Get up a ton of roaches, but get fungal growthed.
ZvP: Guy leaves after I kill his probe trying to cannon rush me, then sneak lings into his main. Then he says I'm a fucking hacker because I moved my overlord.
ZvT of ridiculousness: I get bunker rushed. Lose my natural on lost temple (6:00) I take the 3:00 main. I build a bane nest, and get the lair at my hidden base. Guy freaks out and thinks I'm all inning him. Instead i macro up a huge muta force, and have basically won by 18 minutes. Guy let me get 65 drones on 3 base, I get to 80 on 4, and just kill everything with mutas. Including mass marine. So gosu.

Saracen Tells me I suck
So Saracen and I go into our first session. After he owns me with a bunker rush. Repeatedly. But I get close enough and his micro is better enough that I realize that I just need to pull like 4 more drones to deal with it.
Then he gives me a much more detailed ZvP gameplan. (Mass roach with drop @ 13:00 game time)
At this point, I start to realize how much I truly suck. I have like an extra 400 minerals at 5:45. Lolwut. I'm just slightly late on everything. Slightly late on injects. Slightly late on upgrades. Slightly late on gas.
OK, really late on injects.
Forgetting a third.
OK, and then I realize I"m still only getting to 60 drones, and then maxing. I am informed that I can box drones. For some reason I didn't realize this before, because I"m stupid. I also was not spending my money at around 150 supply., I don't know why. I would get to 60 drones, be like, err, I have enough drones. But then failing epicly and deciding I didn't want to hurt my economy with more units. lolwut
Although I really wanted help with ZvZ, we were unable to find a Zerg of appropriate level. So I play a guy who always manhandled me PvT a month and a half ago. After yelling, being told to get macrohatches. Realizing I got lair and roach warren 2 minutes late I realized there was a problem.
After being told I need to have better map vision, even though I had better map vision than 99% of my games, there was a problem.
After being told my creep spread and army movement were atrocious, there was a problem.
A big problem.
I SUCK REALLY BAD
So I go back to a 1v1 vs my best friend very easy AI. I macromacromacromacromacro, and get waaaay the hell too many minerals. Again proving I suck. Still, I max way faster than before, and have great creepspread.
Then he gives me this amazing zerg checklist. :D Then he leaves
Day 4
Moving into yesterdayx, day 4, I realized that macro was a big problem. I play the computer a couple more times. Get better creep spread. Then I ladder.
For this section, I will have actually rewatched the replays, because I realize my recollection of day 3's games was less than optimal. I'm leaving out a few stomps, and a few of my recollections are warped. But I"m not going back now lol. I've already moved the replays.
ZvP: Xel Naga Caverns: I open up 15-15, thwart his ling pressure. Get a good read he's going roaches. I get up my roach warren, get a couple out. I see a bunch of drones. But then a bunch of roaches come, and kill my natural. It's really GG but I tough it out and end up just losing. I got 10 drones up on him. 5 more roaches and 5 less drones and I win the game. It all came down to my lack of overlord spread, which I work on in my next few ZvZs.
ZvT: Close air on lost Temple
I open up my normal build. He builds a bunker, forces some lings, I clean up marines. I guess banshee after he sends reactor hellions which I handily dispatch of. He just builds up a shitton, and I lose. I thought I had all 4 gas but was only mining from one, which explained why my spire was so late. If I got up the spire I would have won. Instead he got 10 banshees and stomped me. In the future: get more spores, and get a spire asap against two port banshee.
ZvZ: Cross position Typhon: I play VPpalantir, a VP guy. I know suppy, skeptik, and Draekan. So that's pretty cool.
I have good overlord spread, but I have shitty timing. 16 lings pop for him, just as I finish a giant round of drones. He kills my hatch before it pops. From there he drones like mad, and I just try and mass lings to hopefully crush the roach push that comes, hopefully at an ill time to kill my natural again. Instead he get +1 attack and just still roflstomps. Oh. And by the end it was 18 harvesters to 38. I just don't get zvz >.>
ZvP: Woot. ZvP I say. I can practice exactly how I played against the computer by Saracen's advice. He leaves immediately
ZvT: Xel Naga: A bit of a strange game. I spot one gas with an overlord. I remember from Mr. Bitter's stream, when I was playing against one of his students, that he recommended getting a roach warren at around 22 supply vs reactor hellion or blue flame. You make 5roaches, push, and drone like a madman.
In this case, I make 5 roaches, kill the bunker at his front after getting a free hellion kill. I march in, killing about 15 scvs before a banshee that was headed to my base returns and cleans it up. I macro, get mutas. Put down a third. A banshee tries to deny it, my mutas pop, clean it u p. At this point I have 8 mutas, go to his natural, kill all 6 of his marines (just looking at the replay he had like 12 harvesters after the roaches) I prepare to move in my 1-1 zergling swarm, but he taps out when his last marine dies.
ZvZ: Close Ground metalopolis: I'm an idiot. I get 4 drones up on him. poke with my speedlings. I'm thinking "He could have a baneling at the top, I should only send up one ling to check. Instead i Leave one ling down and send the rest, they die, I get baneling busted
ZvP: Cross Position Gulch: HELL YA ZvP. He denies my expansion sooo bad. I have lings, he throws down multiple pylons cause i can't target the probe for beans. I have like 800 minerals by the time I can expand. Because my macro slipped too. So I take my natural and a third almost simultaneously, scout his cannon expand and prepare to DROOOONEEEE soo hard. Unfortunately it's lunch, pasta is tasty, and my mom will kill me if I don' get off so I tap out with a "lunch gg"
ZvZ: Top Positions Tal'Darim: This is a stupid game. If I macro better I crush. Anyways.... 14 gas 14 pool for both of us. 20 expo for both of us. At this point I make a couple lings. He makes a bunch. My OL scouts it, and I make a bunch of lings. I overproduce, getting like 20 to the 12 that he has. He engages poorly, and my speed finishes 10 seconds earlier allowing me to track down all of his lings, do some economical damage. He makes more lings and drones, I get banelings. I am able to mine off both main and natural (although only on like 18 drones) and he has 23 drones on 1 base, becasue I keep on running into his natural. I finally get a nice baneling hit, march into his main, and kill his morphed spire. However, he has 10 harvesters, and I have spores up. At this poitn I have 1200 minerals 500 gas. Off two base with two queen with 18 workers. Should have easywon
ZvT: Metalopolis: Close air. I start out NOTCLOSEGROUNDNOTCLOSEGROUND etc. I sigh a huge breath of relief when it is indeed close air. I scout the two rax with a drone. I pull the right number to initially defend, and get a surround on the first marine. I get out 8 lings, surround the rest, he retreats. I make a full cycle o drones, putting me 8 up. I get gas, to get zergling speed. Using Saracen's checklist, I try to get vision and see what his army is. I take the xel naga tower, and move one to his natural, and see he's moving out with like 8 scvs and a bunch of marines. I pop out a zillion slowlings. I lose a bunch in a stupid engagement and he kites. I get like 5 scvs though. At this point speed is almost done. I should have waited for it, but I just corner all of his stuff against a cliff, and slowlings rape his forces. with 11 harvesters to 25, no gas, and no expansion, not even the MULE can save him. gg I was so happy after this one. I held off a hard bunker rush, harder than the type I practiced against with saracen.
ZvP: Close air Metalopolis. Again praying not close ground metal. He does a really greedy cannon expand. However, I decide to drone instead of attack. If I had made a full production round of lings I would have just won. :/ Hard to be Sheth all the time though. I think he's going to six gate. He actually is trying to just safely take his third with five, although with high stalker and low sentry count. I make like 5 panic spine crawler and a bunch of roaches. He denies my third. I retake it at the close ground position main. I get to 80 drones no problem, delay his nexus a bunch, bring him from 55 probes to 42. I think I"m in a great position. However, I stupidly leave a bunch of overlords exposed. I have 182 supply. I have 200 in overlords. I lose 3 overlords JUST AS MY SPIRE FINISHESS, so I can't get out the necessary corrupters for his 5 colossus army. He rolls over me, as I try to use my 80 drone economy to wear down his army, knowing that with a zergling counter attack included he only has just under 40 probes. However, the 2-0 army slams through my 1-1 (he attacked right before 2-2) and without corrupters I fall
ZvZ: Close ground ST. He pushes out with roaches I kill with lings. But lings aren't larvae efficient, and he just eeks out more drones. He gets hydras over double evo, and attacks. Although he only ahs +1 attack as opposed to my +1/+1 his hydras seal the deal, along with an 8 worker advantage. Note: Lair tech > upgrades.
ZvZ: Bottom positions Basin. I see him go really fast roach warren after we both 14 gas 14 pool. And then I sneak in a ling and see a huge round of drones. So I pump out a bunch of lings, brute force up the ramp, and kill half his workers. Although he fights to protect his main, even on 15 drones I'm able to keep his worker count to around 12, and without zergling speed, he's hopeless.
ZvT: Cross Position Typhon: I see barracks at bottom of ramp. I assume two rax. Evidently mostly its tech. Didn't know. Make 8 lings i didn't need ;( He expos really greedily and fast: I need map presense to see that. IF I see it I make a round of lings and he dies. At very least it denies basically all hope of him being aggressive and I can drone.
He moves in with blue flame hellions. I usher him out with queens and crawlers. he retreats. I take my third, kill some hellions with my new mutas. I get to 70 drones, using the mutas to stall for time.
I attack, I see waaaayyyy too many thors and tanks for it to be normal. It must be mech. I throw down a (late) roach warren and continue to foolishly pump mutas. With no pressure at 16:00 after some harass he's at 45 scvs to my 70 drones. I kill his third with mutas. he moves out. My roach warren finishes just in time. I get out enough to kill all his tanks, and bring his thors low. Without magic box (I need to learn to do that better, I just a move thors and kill them. Then I just move in with roach and muta for the kill. (he killed like 30 drones in the attack, I just remaxed with a beefier army lol.
Summary: I could have stomped in any/all of those games. Just need to improve macro. And ZvZ >.> And map awareness... And timing.... and remember stuff...
Food:
Today is father's day. My dad likes minor league baseball. Dunno why. He never watches it on tv, and never played it but... So we take him to a Stockton Ports game. We look for food on the way. On yelp, we see an Uncle Erb's Filipino fusion place. I get tasty food. It's very tasty. My family gets tasty food. It's very tasty. I wanted to blog about it, but I can't remember the name of the stuff. I think I had shanghai lumpia, and something or the other fries. really tasty. Oh, and deep fried banana ftw. Oh, and really hot chick as cashier <3 I was going to blog in more detail, but at this point all I remember is it was the best food I've had in a long time, with entres, although not large, being under $7, most at 5.
Baseball
We go to ports game. It's more crowded than usual. From the first few pitches some stuff is funny. The guy behind us is already drunk, and is yelling insults at both teams, the referee, and the eponymous MEAT. lol Everyone yells at him to shut up. People offer to buy him beers if he moves. He refuses. He says ‘where did you get those 14 homeruns, whiffleball?’ He yells various other insults. And then his son says ‘thank goodness dad isn’t drunk’ when the dad is clearly quite buzzed. Eventually he was so drunk he just started sleeping. Awesome fireworks display, but some ash landed on my ankle and burned me. Not bad though, and the fireworks were cool, so I won’t complain.
There were literally no runs scored on not homeruns this game. It was 4-3. All of the runs scored were people hitting homers. Three homers for Stockton, 2 for visitors. (Both had a 2 run homer)
Also weirdest thing ever. A hugely obese couple come with their friends. Their friends include a nice looking old guy, and his 30 year old (I think) anorexic daughter. He tries to persuade her to have some pizza, it’s a struggle, etc. Now while this is going on her friends are eating like a coke, fries, and a tri-tip sandwich. Holy food.
Also, the umpire got pegged by a ball that hit the plate and bouned up into his knee. He was down for a long time. I took a picture, but you can't really tell now, because it was dark and my camera sucks >.>
Before the fireworks show, comes the biggest ripoff of all time. Also, why esports is viable lol. They tell the crowd you can buy a tennis ball for a buck, or 10 for 5 dollars. Then they put a kiddy pool, and hula hoops on the field. If you get it in any of these you can get 2 As tickets, an In N Out Burger (nomnomnom but only $3) or a ticket to a waterpark. Or just 25 bucks, but that circle was tiny. Point being you had to throw it out of the stands, and it’s a fair sized park. Out of probably a thousand tennis balls thrown, only 6 made it in with an average value of like 10 bucks each. So they made like 900 dollars minimum. How easily people throw away money… Now if people did that for esports ^^
