EPTSo, in my latest game on the ladder, I used a mass marine strat (via mass Barracks with reactors) to win against my opponent. My opponent said that this was a cheese strat and that I was bad, which launched a long argument about it. Here is the transcript if you want it (I edited out my opponent's name for privacy's sake) :

Opponent: that t1 spam in late game is baddie?
You: Yes, just T1 is bad, but T1 makes up most of most armies. In high-end play, you see a lot of Zealots, Stalkers, Zerglings, Banelings, Marines, and Marauders.
Higher Tiers are for support
Such as Medivacs
Opponent: lol, but they shouldn't make up your whole army
like yours did
You: I used Medivacs for healing, for one. Second, I was getting upgrades for my marines to increase their effectiveness. Third, I only used Marines because those are the only unit I needed. I didn't need much else, so I didn't get it.
Opponent: so, you cheesed
You: Getting a third base is not cheese

Opponent: do you really think marine spam with 4 LATE medi is a legit strat?

I was just wondering, was he right? To me, it does not seem like cheese, since I was expanding, but I'm not entirely sure, as I am still a newb. Is massing just one unit cheese?
