This is my first Blog
I just cheesed Kas on ladder. And I feel extremely guilty.
Kas has been one of my favorite players for a long time, and I have learned more from him than anyone. I stole tons of his builds and watched hundreds of his replays. I just love that his style is so safe, macro focused, and solid. He is literally my idol in Starcraft, as lame as that might sound.
I went from silver league a long time ago, to GM, just by watching players like him, and learning the game how its meant to be played. I am not a cheeser, and I always try to improve my standard game. I've played Kas a couple of times before, on ladder and in some tournaments, and he always beat me without any problems - he is an amazing player and a role model for many, while I am a nobody.
I lost a couple of dumb games today, and barely won some extremely frustrating TvTs where my opponent played bad and I got lucky. The moment I saw Delta Quadrant and EmpireKas on my loading screen I felt like this will be another dumb game. Kas is much better than me; I hate this map, and never play it. I often leave the game when I get it, similarly to when I get zerg or protoss on close positions. I don't find these games to be useful or fun, and nobody plays these maps in tournaments anyway. I had a friend standing over me, watching me play, so I stayed in the game.
I almost completely forgot I was playing Kas, and put down 4 hidden rax and started stim. I didn't care if there was a banshee, blue-flame or siege push comming - I knew I would lost to those, I just wanted to get the game over with.
I got very lucky. Kas happened to be making a build with which it is extremely hard to stop early bio all ins. His scan missed my hidden rax by 1 pixel, and his bunker was 90% when half of my scvs and all marines with stim reached his natural.
It was a waste of my mine, but most importantly his time. I don't know what I was thinking to be honest. I always wanted to find a way to thank Kas for all the builds and strategies I stole, and his tournament wins that also made me happy. But I just did the most stupid thing I could have.
Pff i just needed to vent about my own stupidity :S

who knows maybe you helped him to be more mindful of that cheese;)
|
It's okay dude, you don't need to feel guilty, it's not like you murdered his dog or something. You showed that his build is weak against fast bio pressure, and hopefully he will account for that better.
|
Don't feel bad about cheesing someone! It's just a shame about not having an epic replay of Kas you can watch over and over again.
|
You put cheese in the cheese...or w/e cause kas means cheese in dutch. man im tired

lol that was kinda funny

Don't feel so bad. It means you're a much better person than I expected when I clicked this thread. At least you're much more mature than someone who would come in and say "I cheesed Kas BOOM ROASTED PROGAMER SCHMOGAMER".
|
|
Sounds very satisfying

dude, the guy has what 3k games of sc2 played. He gives the least of shits about your marine all-in on DQ

Can't stop cheese; doesn't deserve a macro game.
|
People saying its a brag post, You must be kidding me.
I wrote it here, cause the moment I messaged him to apologize after the game, he told me to stfu and went offline. I feel really sorry, and guilty. I'm a player myself, and I get mad at people who do stuff like I did too. It was a very rare occasion for me to cheese, and against the worst player it could have happened.
I just needed to get it out somehow, and was hoping he might stumble upon it
|
don't worry about it. if anything you showed him how to improve on defending this so it doesn't happen in tournaments!
|
Dude its just a game. Relax.
You take the whole SC2 thing to serious...
|
He probably killed himself after this game.

we can only hope so, the dirty terran scrub.
I'm glad you cheesed him mate, there's nobody everyone should hate more than kas. Solid MMM 1a stim every game, boring and predictable, yet he has a stupidly high winrate.

EsX_Raptor, or RaptorX?
RaptorX isn't famous but 100% of his blogs are in some way related to SC, while EsX_Raptor is famous for some hilarious blog entries, a few of which are sort of brag blogs in disguise.

Do not worry Gomas I am sure he is not too upset about it.
Also did you manage to find out who stole your account or you still accusing me? It is really annoying that I went to see you to meet you. You know... And then I get that. Anyways I hope you have the right one and you think a bit different about me than you did then.
|
"Ugh i won these long difficult TvTs then i saw Kas on ladder and I cheesed him and won..." Its okay man we're proud of you you don't have to try to be so subtle about it
|
good job, always nice to hear normal players are beating top players on ladder somebody i know also took a game from idrA during the beta in a tournament replay ? :D

Ooh... lover's quarrel. I like that.

think of it this way: maybe one day he will be high up in a tournament and his opponent opens similarly to yours, but because of this experience he prepares for it better, and gets a win.
or maybe he uses THIS build to take a crucial win.
Who knows.

what is wrong with you...?
for the OP, as other's have said, i'm sure he'll not be prepared for this eventuality in the future. Kas, like white-ra, practices by massing ladder games. 90% of them are likely to be very similar, it's a good thing you probably showed him something abnormal which he'll now get ready for.
|
that sounds like a GG. in GM anything is acceptable and he will learn to scout that better for sure. and will win if he does. cheese never wins if the other knows its coming,
once again GG and make him think you will do it again and again

I dont know why but that made me spit out my water!
Gomas: I feel bad about cheesing my hero Travis: You probably inadvertently killed him
Nicely done :D:D:D

Hey, I cheesed kas too! I met him on scrap station. He would remember.

I'm still laughing so hard I can't breathe two minutes later. You're a unique part of TL.
(On topic) Hey man, you won. And you're humble about it. Good for you. If you keep feeling bad, apologize
|
You're lucky you even got to play Kas >.< Besides, you beat him fair and square lol. Cheese is a part of the game. I'm sure Kas will be fine about it
|
I think everyone would do that if they faced a pro and know that they wouldn't be able to win. I know I would pull the dirtiest, cheesiest, two-rax SCV all in, super-mega-ultra BIT BY BIT PRIME styled cheese.
|
I faced a pro once, it was Kawaii Rice. He cheesed me. Next time I face him on the ladder, Ima cheese him so hard, he'll be pooping gouda.

It was 10% poor taste, 90% funny. Trust us, we know!
|
Of course it was, that's why I laughed so hard at it. But of course if someone like me or worse someone with 50 posts said it I'd think they deserved a temp ban. Mods have it rough sometimes.
Still it was hilarious :D
desrow's parody- not as funny.

Why would you ever leave against a zerg when you get close posistions against them? As a terran player every time I get close positions on a game versus zerg I just smile like a chesire cat.
|
He'll live and learn, that's what ladders for anyways imo. Gj on beating someone you look up to, cheese or not you deserved the win and he'll watch the rep and won't let it beat him again so you both kinda win.
