Week 3: Le Macro

Hey all, we have a good number of people now, but if anyone still wants in it's open. I'll probably be trimming out some of the inactives this week, so send me your replays or just jump onto the sc channel 'summer session'. Also: MLG was sick.

Method
Focus some practice games on never getting supply blocked and never stopping probe production, while building a massive and well diversified army. The army composition doesn't have to be great, but make an effort to have a unit from every structure in the practice game. Not getting supply blocked is pretty straightforward. Hard mode is taking a shot of liquor like someone on reddit did for every time he supply blocked himself. Keeping your macro up while mico'ing is also one of the hardest things to do in this game. Make sure reinforcements are streaming in to back up your armny. Good luck, this week is mostly about practice so hopefully it'll carry over into your games.

Logic
Okay, so totally taboo week, it's finally time to work on the dynamic of the game that almost every pro claims to be the most important. Even the best micro player in the world will lose if they have no economy to fall back on after a bad engagement. Keeping your macro up while mico'ing is also one of the hardest things to do in this game.

What I Did
So yeah... not really any shortcuts to improving this. I played a lot of Macro or Die until I could consistently hit the masters rank, and then played against friends where I quickly fell back down to platinum. It's really crazy to think about how fast you can get to 200/200 and even though it isn't the best thing to do, it really makes you think "wtf am I doing during ladder games when I sit around 110 supply for the entire game". Ending games with 2k minerals / gas now gives me an uneasy feeling in my stomach cause that should be about 12 nukes in my base.
