After last night's fail-streak, I thought of regaining my honor within the Top 30 by playing about 3 games today. I was intending on going for 5 but I need to make the necessary preparations for my teaching demonstration at a school I sent my application to.
Anyways, I lost to a Protoss at my first match probably due to the fact that I my economy felt a bit off even though I expanded. And it was on Slag Pits, a map which I have not played much though I think it's a better map than Tal'darim Altars, if you ask me.
On my second match, it was another ZvZ. After a bit of advice I got from some friends of mine, I thought of actually spawning some ground units this time, starting with a few zerglings, some roaches to secure the Xel'naga watchtowers. After a couple of minutes, I noticed that I should have been rushed by now. Minutes later, I was attack by Mutalisks which I was able to counter properly thanks to some Hydralisks I spawned a few seconds early. Then I thought of fortifying my defenses by adding some spine crawlers in case some enemy zerglings will strike back, which they did along with about 6 more Mutalisks and nearly killed my Hydras if it were not for some decent micro on my part. After that attack, opponent went GG and I got my first victory of the day.
My final match was a ZvT and it was against someone whom I swear I faced off with a couple of days ago. I tried going for the Mutalisk Brood Lord mix to check what my enemy Terran is doing and much to my surprise, he has not made an Orbital Command. I would think that by now, most Terran players should have had a habit of making an Orbital Command. After a brief counter from his drops which I actually managed to fend off thanks to a few ground units I spawned, it was then I made an all out strike. Must say, it was the easiest ZvT match I have ever played. Checking my opponent's profile, he has got more wins than me. Even in the Bronze League, I don't expect him to be better than me, but you would think that he would have had more experience than me. Judging upon the replay, he has not binded any hotkey to react to my strategy, and he has not even made an expansion. Hmmm....
Okay, that is all I got to write this time. I feel confident this time around that I am going to get through the Bronze League and I will do my best to play even more games. At least 5 this time around to at least make it to the top of the league. Hopefully the case of the anxieties doesn't get to me. But hell, that's what my Itunes playlist is for, right?
