Instead of raging at Great and Hydra for putting Flash, Bisu, Jaedong and Sea in Group D, it could actually be more enjoyable. Think of how many Starleagues we have gone through where TBLS+Fanta+Sea have not met each other because one or both players dropped in the group stages. What Hydra has done is guarnateed that Flash, Bisu, and Jaedong would play.
Sure, a BoX between TBLS would be better than a single match. But a BoX is not guaranteed to happen in a Starleague between TBLS. So instead of the choice being between a BoX and a single match, it becomes the choice between the possibility of a BoX and a certain single match. While arguments can be made for both sides in that case, I would at least prefer a single certain match.
If there is any reason to rage at Hydra, it would be to rage that he essentially has weakened the level of play in subsequent BoX's, for his own certain benefit. This is a valid argument but at least we have the certainty of watching Flash roflstomp play Bisu and Jaedong play Sea.
|
its good that we get to see some great games early but i guess ppl like BoX better, there is no point to rage at hydra he did what he wanted to do not to mention great also had a hand in this
|
I like the hype behind the leadup to the best players meeting up in a BoX series. You root for your players to win so they can play eachother, but not only do we have fewer games between flash, jaedong, and bisu, but it seems contrived and forced. Because it is.
|
Most people are raging because their fans of the players. Imagine if your favorite player got stuck in that group of death and was at risk to be eliminated early on.
|
Im really excited though that might be related to being a flash fan

Yeah, true, part of the reason I'm so calm is because God's head to head record vs each of these players in the past year has been fairly stable lol

Its okay,Jaedong and flash will both make it out no worries.
(and we get to see flash > bisu twice which is pretty cool)

This was one of the funniest MSL group selections I've seen, LOL. The way the players were reacting was hilarious.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. People always whine about TBLS not meeting each other, and now we have 3 of them facing off, and what do we get? More whining and QQing, of course! Fanboys will be fanboys. I personally am excited and hyped for Group D of Death. It will be epic. And there will be many more fanboy tears.

Nothing better than fanboy tears.
MMM :D

How many actually make it out of one group? One or two players?
If it's one, I feel bad for Jaedong already.

Should be two.
Would be better if the fourth player wasn't Sea, but an up-and-coming rookie like Reality
|
Woah, using spoilers (title) on MSL group selection. Really?

Let me QQ in other direction then. Hydra switch Bisu with Sea! If only he had switched Sea with Stork T.TLet me QQ in other direction then. Hydra switch Bisu with Sea! Only he had switched Sea with Stork T.T

I knew there was a reason my two favorite teams are Hite and Samsung.

If he could have, he would have. However, since Stork was a seed, he was fixed in his spot.
I would've loled even more if Hydra switched Bisu with Fantasy with his last switch.

Hydra such a good troll :D
|
Hell, I'm a Flash fanboy, and the first thing i did when i saw the groups was burst out laughing. This will be great, and there's plenty of talent in the other groups to ensure the MSL is still good.
|
All I can say is THIS WILL BE ABSOLUTELY EPIC!!! Tbh, I know that not many people are giving Sea a chance but if Sea beats JD in the first set, and bisu wins first set, he could win a TvP vs bisu (TvT vs flash is ridiculously low winrate :D)
|

While I am mad, my hope is that either Flash or Jaedong gets eliminated (both would be amazing). I don't want either winning this MSL.
I await the end of the MSL, with Stork crowned as champion. In the interview it is revealed that it was Stork who paid off great and Hydra to do this! Plot twist!
Go Stork!

Yes, ask Ssak and Classic about it.

Sounds familiar...

i'd be more worried about flash tbh

If Flash, Bisu and Jaedong want to be safe from this in the future, they can just get a ro8 seed spot.

yeah poor jaedong. they should have picked on stork instead.
It's okay. Jaedong will destroy them both and reclaim his throne.

Obviously Sea is going to advance (because it's before the round of 8, so Sea has to win :p).
More seriously, assuming that Flash is his usual self and crushes everyone, I actually think that Bisu has a pretty reasonable shot at being the second person out of the group. He's always pretty godly pvz, and he's been doing okay pvt recently, at least enough that he has a shot at beating Sea.

Great would have had hell to pay in Khan house if he did that to Stork.
Edit: Plus Hydra would also have to play group E in the Ro16 (if he gets that far).

It's ok, Jaedong will make it out of the group. You have my word.

on the bright side I think players who are in the same group in the Ro32 don't meet until the finals?
|
I sense JD getting his fire back and crushing this MSL.
|
Even if Flash loses, I'll be happier that he lost at the hands of Bisu and Jaedong rather than Ssak and Classic lol
And as a Bisu fan, it must hurt less to watch him lose to Flash or Jaedong than for him to lose to Shine

i dont rage, even if Bisu and Sea are cornered right now. Its also strange that more hate some player gains for his moves, more i like him (i was no fan of Hydra, even if I REALLY think that he will be another great zerg, and yet with all the hate he is given now, i really start to like him. Same was with Shine) Oh, and to hate my favorite ZvZ player? Hell no!

Flash will get crushed by Bisu.+ Show Spoiler +like what happened in WL finals Then lose to Jaedong/Sea in losers match. Now that would restore the order of BW universe.

Bo1 of TBLS i see the whole time in PL.. I don't want on the spot strategies.. I want a fuckin' prepared monster-bo5 between these guys.
Think of it.. This group D is horrible for the whole MSL.

Stork 2-0 Bisu?
Jaedong 3-2 Stork?

Pretty sure the order of the BW universe is Flash making dual finals o_O

Audience like the idea of possibilities. It's like a lottery ticket. While TBLS rarely meet each other in BOX, the possibility of them meeting keeps the audience hooked to the league.
Eliminating the possibilities early on is a disservice to the fans.
Unless new players with creative style emerges, the fans will always want those four (plus other fan favorites such as Fantasy, FBH, Hiya, etc) to move forward.
Moreover, TBLS are players who have proven themselves to be flexible and able to utilize different strategies on different maps, creating an exciting BOX series, as opposed to standard build v.s. standard build.
On a second note, Sea has some serious problem with his luck in individual leagues.

Stork 2-0 Bisu? zzzzzz
Jaedong 3-2 Stork? I will admit the one game where Stork pulled a nice timing attack was nice, but two games decided by a single (unbuilt) cannon -- meh. Even the Great vs Kal series was better.

Fantasy vs Flash?
Light vs Jaedong? (well...maybe not so much, but imo the best bo5 TvZ series since Nate)
Snow vs Jaedong?
By what standard were these series worse than the standard fare of FvJ?

I thought people were generally more annoyed with the fact the MSL could have another terrible RO8 and beyond.

Hydra just a scared newb.

Being a Jaedong, Sea, and Hydra fan, I laughed my ass off and had a huge grin when I read about these shenanigans. Would be cool if we had an epic tiebreaker like the one that went on a couple of season ago (with Effort and go.go, was it?) Though I think that was OSL, so I'm not entirely sure if it would be possible in the MSL format.
Still, we'll likely get some epic games out of this group, and that's definitely better than not seeing them get paired at all. And really, think about it... sure, we all love at least one player in this group, but having them dominate everyone they play doesn't necessary lead to good games.
