I know the answer to this is to play 1s, and I agree that I should. But, right now, I've been into playing team games in 3v3 and 4v4 Random since it is a lot less pressure and I'm just looking to have some fun.

Since Season 2 started I've been at the top of Platinum in both 3v3 and 4v4 and hovering in this area. I find though that is difficult to get consistent wins and advance because I'll be dragged down by teammates whose mechanics are no more than Silver League (1s) in quality.

While I do all I can to help these people out it is very difficult to succeed when you have teammates who make fundamental mistakes like not making an Orbital Command before 20 food, not Chrono boosting, or not researching Warp Gates (and the various kinds of Zerg bad that is possible). Compound this kind of play with poorly executed rushes and rush defenses and you get games that are just not fun.

I wonder if Blizzard should take a person's overall ratings in other types of play (like 1s) into account when matchmaking for team games. The games that I win are only when people I am matched with are equal to or better than I am. I'm not saying that I am infallible, just the opposite; I'm saying that it is very difficult for me to pull up the play of grossly bad teammates. It would be nice ever everyone in the game was at my level or better, on both sides. All rushing aside, the play would be much more satisfying. I'd rather lose knowing I was BESTED instead of LET DOWN.

There is nothing worse than hearing a teammate say he is going Colossus, then looking over at his base at 14 minutes, and seeing NO Colossus, NO WARP GATES, and a Nexus with full energy not making Probes.

I'd agree that smaller margins of player skill difference on teams would probably be a good thing, though that means that matches are also found slower. Overall, removing the unpredictability of your allies is a good reason to go arranged team instead of random team.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I'm in diamond 3v3s and 4v4s, but recently I've been having a lot of trouble getting wins consistently, especially when I'm playing against other masters/diamond teams with rediculous win ratios. The thrill of winning a well executed game is so rare now, and its making me really sad

You want the matchmaking system to only match you with equal or better players? Who should weaker players be matched up with then? People better than them... but not you? How do you think stronger players than you feel when they get matched with you? Sometimes you do the carrying, sometimes you get carried, that's just how the random teams work.
It's supposed to be automatic but actually you have to press this button.

Yeah sadly it seems like blizzard doesn't really take teamgames seriously and just added them in for the "casual" players

I don't think that they should make the MMR system merge all leagues. 1v1/2v2/3v3/4v4 all have their different mindsets, and you can't go into any of them with the same gameplan. They're too different to have the MMR's affect eachother.

And yes, you're right, the solution to not having to deal with shit teammates is to play 1v1. There, it's only yourself who is holding you back.

Oh, and I know bronze league players who are in diamond in 4v4. Just saying, seeing silver 1v1 players in plat 3v3/4v4 isn't suprising.
