you're in high school. I thought the same when I was your age, I just didn't see the cruel reality that awaits us after high school when we're forced to either settle with a job at 7/11 for the rest of our lives or fight for something better. You need to take responsibility for yourself, get some perspective about life and what will happen if you don't do well in school. It's not necessarily the games though. I'm still playing a lot of games in university at the same time as getting 80-100%. You just need to find something to motivate you that's all.

In my experience it can be like a vicious cycle. Play games/procrastinate too much -> worse in school -> feeling bad -> play more games/procrastinate to temporarily feel better.
You need to cut the cycle. Games aren't necessarily the problem but you need to discipline yourself. Get the homework done and try your best. If you know you're putting in an honest effort the grades will come.

Weirdly enough Nitrogen's signature is completely applicable to this situation. Stop playing video games. Video games themselves can be quite the monumental time sinks, and the time saved from quitting them is quite non-negligible. That time can be better spent doing other, more productive things. Study more, sleep more, talk to your parents more. It'll pay dividends in the future.
Another thing is to not tell yourself that you are stupid. It's one thing to have a sense of humility, but perhaps you are taking it a bit far. Cheer up! Positivity goes a long way. Don't do things for the sake of your parents--do them because you know you'll be far better off in the future. As others in this thread have said, sacrifice now will mean a better, happier life in the future.
Good luck with everything, good sir. I hope you can pick yourself up.

i think my signature is relevant to most, if not all situations. it's the best advice i've been given.

North American laziness. This kinda of apathy doesn't exist in Asia because with a C- average you dont get past primary school. Only in America does a kid complain about C's on the intertubes from the comfort of his suburban home. Get a clue kid. If you don't want it you wouln't get it.

Agreed with most of the replies.
You've probably heard it a lot before from other people but if you keep the lazy/procrastination mindset you're going to look back on your time in high school a few years later and realize how stupid and selfish you were being at the time.
Been there, don't let it happen to you.

It's indeed quite hard to break out of the rut you seem to be in. But believe me, if you power through it, stop playing video games, study, actively try new things you will be a million times happier for it down the road. If you don't you're going to always regret it.

What do you want to do with your life? I think you might lack motivation just because you don't see any reason to put effort into your school work.
Don't try to force yourself to study just because your parents are pressuring you to or because you feel dumb compared to your friends. I don't think that'd be very effective. Instead consider how you would like to spend the rest of your life; indeed, high school does much to determine it. Is a life with some sacrifice now and more reward later (better education means more money) more appealing to you than a life spent with only the immediate future in mind? And this is a serious question. I know a very intelligent guy who chooses to slack off in school and get high every day because he doesn't want to die without having enjoyed his life.
It's your life. Consider all your possible courses of action with their implications and choose wisely.
o.O
Sorry... Not sure what kind of advice you want...
If you're lazy, and you don't like being lazy, then get off your ass and do something about it.
Discipline isn't genetic. It's trained. If you want to be better in life, then go fucking be better in life, and don't satisfy yourself with sitting around and crying.
If you want better grades, then fucking study. Some of the dumbest kids I know are honor students because they work their asses off.
This applies everywhere.
If you want a better body, stop crying about it and go work out.
If you want to be better at Starcraft, then stop watching VODs and go practice.
If you want to stop being lazy, then get the fuck off of TL and go do something productive.
edit: All these cushy responses don't help... What the OP needs is for someone to light a fire under his ass. Get real - you're not making bad grades because you're dumb, you're making bad grades because you don't really care...

Just a word of advice, DO NOT copy homework off friends. We have homework for a reason. It helps us understand problems and how to solve them at our exams. If you copy all of them, you won't do so great. I'd rather try my best and go to the teacher saying "I did my best and this was all I could do" then give my friend's homework in. Good luck. Remember to try hard, put heaps of effort in and cut down on things such as games.

Don't drop the games bro; take it from someone who played WAY too much during HS and NEVER regretted a second. Priorities mate, get em right.
That being said, know the line when gaming is taking over too much of your life. Even playing quite competitively can be balanced with a good amount of normalness in your life, all you need is decent time-management and enough sense to know that enough is enough.
Seriously just git'r'done. I'm lazy too but if you have a mentality of always getting it done, and not doing it just to hand something in or show up for the test, you will hopefully learn to just pull surprisingly good shit together last second (I say this as I'm finishing up the final edits/reading TL of a paper due in 6 hours).
Don't like the title of the thread, too much drama for me. HS sucks life doesn't

You always copied off your friends hw. Honestly, you need to start doing hw or at least reading the textbooks. Don't do your hw at home; you've grown too accustomed to slacking off there. Try going to a library and really focus on doing hw or just do your hw somewhere besides your room. You already have the mindset of "i'm addicted to games, i have to play instead of doing other significant things." It took me awhile to realize how to set my life straight and how to encourage myself to start trying. Honestly, if you really tried, you should be getting at least a 3.0 average for regular (not AP) classes, which are the types of classes you should be taking. I'm not trying to be mean but you should really take the advice other people are giving you on this forum. Also, don't be envious of your friends. You were at least partially responsible for your shortcomings; don't go "why am i the only one?! forever alone ;-;" Because when college admissions come around, you'd be infuriated by everyone else.

As a lot of people are suggesting. You need to take important steps.
1. Take responsibility for your situation. 2. Take steps to self improvement.
Best advice is to create a regiment and follow it. For example, no video games until homework is completely done. The important thing is that you stick with it! Don't cheat yourself man.

wow man. I honestly wish my life sucked the way yours does and i wish i had your problems.
Jesus grow a pair of balls dude. Do something about whats so shitty in your life instead of moping around on tl seeking sympathy and a quick fix to your not so difficult to fix problems. Its really much less effort than you think to just get off your lazy ass and open a textbook and do homework than it is to rush through and copy your friends shit.
No one can help you but yourself. And quite frankly you sound like the kind of person that would rather bitch in someones ears than do something about it.
Good things DONT come to those who wait. They come to those who get off their asses and do something to make it happen

Hey guys, I never thought I would get this awesome response from the community, I have read every comment you guys have posted. These are the advice my parents consistently nag to me. I am very lazy to tell you guy, I honestly don't know what I am going to do in life, getting into a college or university is possible with only a B where I live. Even if I get into post secondary, I dont know what to do,there is no motivation, in me. My parents make me go to the library to study, but it never helps me on a test unless I grind it into me and honestly im just too lazy to do that. I try to set my priorities straight but in the end, it always fail , and it pisses me off. Like my mind is just bent on getting out of high school as fast as I can with a simple education, but I don't want that, I want get good grades and do something with my life. I'm always the guy that laughs, I'm usually positive but I sometimes have a short temper. The things that bugs me most, is I know I can be successful but I don't can't seem to get off my ass to do it, and it pisses me off.

you can only do what you truly desire (and right now that happens to be "not much at all"), it's not something a human being can control. You can only control 'how' you do something, external factors control 'what' you want to do. But you do seem to have a desire to want to do 'something', so expose yourself to some different experiences, and see if something inspires you.

The frick?
You sound lazy as hell. Things don't just happen to you unless you're incredibly intelligent or talented, and that's not most of us. It takes hard work to get to places.

It really does take something that produces motivation from within in order to become hard-working. I suggest you do more things (become the "yes"-man) and try to not be lazy in more ways than one.

you need to appreciate life more, if you dont like where you're at, then work harder... If you want better grades, dont procrastinate, start studying and stop cheating, or get better at cheating.
Kids these days think that life magically becomes great, you have to go out and make the life you want

Copying homework is the absolutely worst thing you can do. Homework is where you really check if you understood the stuff you did in school. If you can't do your homework, you should immediately check the internet for other explanations of the stuff you just did.
You should always do your homework. They won't be enough to give you straight A's, but it's no problem to get B's throughout the board JUST due to homework, because homework basically verifies your understanding of the topic. A's are done mostly by practice. Compare it to Starcraft: Knowing counters and build orders for specific things theoretically are enough to get you out of the lower leagues, but without practice you won't become pro, no matter how talented you are.
