My first real character in WoW that I stuck with was a female Draenei mage, and it's funny the kinds of reactions that I got. I made it clear to anyone who even wondered about my sex that I was male, and anyone who heard me on ventrilo, etc. was blessed with my deep, deep voice, yet people still joked around with me in a more sensitive manner. I think that the idea of what is feminine and what is not in our culture has been ingrained so deeply that even seeing a female face changes the way that people interact. But I could be wrong.

I'd rather spend that money on something practical or something fun like a game or a book or something. Actually, aside from "looking pretty" and the sentimental value behind being given jewelry, jewelry makes a great asset. That's because jewelry hardly ( if ever ) depreciates in value. So if your boyfriend buys you a $7,000 tennis diamond necklace it's basically a walking piggy bank. You can cash that in whenever you need. Most "practical" stuff depreciates in value or becomes valueless. Other than that, most guys don't care for jewelry. We just buy it because we know you like it. *edit* Damn.. if I had the money I'd buy this for the girl I like: + Show Spoiler + You're telling me you wouldn't be happy if someone got you that?

How much is that? Maybe i'll drop hints to my boyfriend.. It's so incredibly pretty! And honestly, for valentines day, I do hope he gets me a pretty necklace or bracelet. The thought that would go into it would phenomenal, because I know it'd be a hard thing for him to pick. ♥

Also, this talk of free stuff reminded me of one of the nicer moments from playing RO. One day while i was idling on prontera, someone decided to open trade with me and give me 2 million zeny- this was on the official server too so it was quite a sum. I don't think gender played a role though as i (being a 13 year old boy at the time) had a boy sprite, i guess someone was just feeling generous that day.

All joking aside, Some players often give items/money to newer players so that probably has played some role in it. Personally I am male and play a male character though I do not have a particular reason for it, Though I often play Melee classes so I suppose that may have something to do with it indirectly.

I think if you poke around their website you can find the same design but a lesser-quality diamond. But really it's the quality of the diamond that makes it what it is.

+ Show Spoiler + http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa80/Torenhire/WoW%20Screens/WoWScrnShot_022308_165738.jpg My fancy RP set wooo! Now that everyone is questioning my sexuality... I tend to get...really immersed in the storyline of whatever I'm playing. So if I'm actually planning on roleplaying in any game, it's generally male. Just because it's more natural for me to tell a story, or project my character in a male sense. in non-RP games though, I just roll with whatever makes more sense to me...like the casters with all their fancy robes and whatnot...I've just been stuffed into the stereotype "in the fray" as males and support classes as female, so I generally play that. A lot of games though they seem to work way more on the females than the males in terms of personality, acting, character customization, animations...Sometimes playing a game as male can feel like a different game than playing as a female. I know of an offline RPG that the game felt COMPLETELY different as a female even though it's the same exact linear RPG, because of the acting, animations...just felt more actiony, more flashy...male was soooo boring after female! Another thing I found kind of funny, I used to play a ton of EVE online as well, and eventually my girlfriend decided to give it a try as we both got bored on WoW ( where I met her.. hooked up at hte guild summer vacation woot! :x ) so as she's in the "nooby zone"...there isn't really one, but there's game masters and stuff there to answer questions and such, some guild master was ALL over her for hours, trying to help her, getting her started, she basically had to tell him to piss off because he was so infatuated with her right off the bat. I told her she shouldn't have said "boyfriend" when he asked what got her into EVE, but...oh well
