EPTSo I was playing a 2v2 today (for the guide three achievement), my teammate and I was both gold (in 1v1), the opposing team has one good and one not so good player. I played without headphones and was losing SCVs continuously during the game to hellions + vikings harasses, but we still managed to barely beat them.
The story started when my teammate kept telling me what a noob I was, and how he couldn't believe my noobness etc... I got quite pissed, because I wasn't playing that badly, just a bit careless with the SCVs. So I challenged him to a 1v1 on Xel'Naga afterwards.
After the game started I felt like I was playing much better than usual, not missing refinery/supply/SCVs... at all. But he was probably a bit better than me (he played Z in the 2v2 but then P when we 1v1) and managed to win the fight at my natural, killed a lot of SCVs and marines/marauders. At that moment I thought to myself "damn, I can't believe I'm losing, this is so embarrassing", then my hands speed suddenly increased, I immediately put the CC back to the natural and built three bunkers to defend. However, I knew I was still behind so I took a risk and built a third CC at the 5 o'clock expansion, hoping he wouldn't find out soon enough. Meanwhile he was building up his army off 2 bases, mostly Immortals + gateway units. I was just making MMM until I scanned his base and saw a Robotics Bay. So for a moment I used my brain and loaded up 2 medivacs with marines/marauders and headed to his base. When the medivacs got to his base, he was attacking my natural!. The 3 bunkers + some marines/marauders/medivacs fought bravely but still couldn't hold, and he was left with several stalkers. I pulled every SCVs in my main and with the marines/marauders popping out from the barracks, I held off the attack. Meanwhile my troops from the 2 medivacs I dropped in his main were still there destroying everything. The game was over at that point.
When he typed "GG" I felt so good IRL. A feeling of satisfaction that I couldn't remember the last time I had one.
