Hey, y'all!
This is a celebratory blog post about finally reaching the coveted 3000 points in Master League. It's been a tough journey of highs and lows, all-ins and flames, haters, whiners, mad nerds and mad zergs, but here I am, 3K and going strong!
I recall being so close to my goal of 3K Diamond, only to have a new league thrown at me, lowering my points and resetting my journey. I had a lot of problems with my TvP for a long time, and my TvT, and questioned whether or not it was time to put the all-ins on the shelf and pick up some of that macro all the kids are talking about. In my darkest hours, after Zergs blindly added 5 crawlers just upon seeing my name, I felt like my strategies, and the name associated with them, could go no further.
And I did indeed learn some macro. Most of my TvTs are fairly long macro games now (mostly because TvT is a tough nut to all-in, though I did recently craft an early all-in build) and I experimented with some macro against Zerg (a match-up that haunts me to this day). In the end, however, I gotta be me, and I'll keep pulling SCVs, keep building proxy barracks, keep one-basing, keep all-inning, keep infuriating, keep doing my thing. Why, you ask? Because I'm too legit to quit.

+5 points for crafting that allin build (I love allin builds, they add a certain flavor to the game)

I think it's sad that you got to 3k master league with just all-ins.
I would hope that high level players would be pretty resistant those strategies...

My guess is that this is overblown, and that his macro certainly aint that bad. Like, he'd prolly still be in Masters even without the all-ins.

i'm depressed by all the hate protoss gets for the 4gaters that make it to ridiculous heights, really think people should start talking the same way about terran all inners, but congrats on 3k masters, if i face you on the ladder, i'll just probe rush you...

wtf, now you're as high as I am. Why did I have to go learn macro, timings, harass, strategy, etc when I could just allin every game. WHY???!!!!

Yeah, I can macro, but I choose to all-in. Like I said, I gotta be me. I'm not gonna conform to the community's idea of how to 'really' play the game just to avoid getting flames/death threats etc. There's just something admirable about pulling SCVs and all-inning someone on cross spawn Sharkuas ^_^''

As for a replay pack; sure! Soon enough I'll gather a few good replays and post them, if there's any interest.
And the reason people hate on 4gaters is because such play lacks any style and finesse and takes quite little skill. Terran all-ins are a lot sexier imo.
And anyone complaining I got where I am by 'just all-inning' or whatever, you know very well how full of crap you are. If it's so easy go ahead and get 3K Master League by all-inning. You'll find it becomes extra hard once you get a reputation for it. I do what I do for the love of it, not for supposedly easy wins.

If you have such a big/bad reputation for all inning, maybe it will work to your advantage as you transition to macro games. I remember one stream where someone hit PiQLiQ and spent so much time and energy getting up shittons of units and looking for the proxied pylon, only to discover that he was actually doing a macro game

I heard you was wavering a bit times, even considering going over to the toss side. But good to hear you stuck with it and pulled through.
I even copied your builds myself alot, when getting T, as I went on to get 50 random wins for the icon.

4gating correctly in this day and age, regardless how mundane it may look, takes far more skill then a terran all in does, see bitbybitprime
4gating is actually relatively useless unless you've got phenomenal offensive abilities with the game

Nice job. I envy you. Everytime I play the game, I get this surge of annoyance that prohibits me from playing further games.

Yeah I lost 400 pts upon making Master's. Sad day, but now my 600 point Bonus Pool looks mighty tasty.
I'd love to hear some of your TvT stuff and TvP ideas. I've been opening standard Fact Port TvT to stop nublets and their Banshee rushes TvT and 1/2 Rax FE against Toss.
