Starcraft 2 n00b, ep 5: A Win! (and Ravens)

For this episode of Starcraft 2 n00b, I post a win. Crazy, I know. I do this to show what it looks like when I'm not playing in super-n00b mode and also because, for a Bronze League match, I think this is a pretty awesome game. Me and my opponent butt heads over and over, and almost every time, he just barely wins the skirmish but is left with not enough units to push into my base. I also pulled off a few stunts that, for a n00b like me, were slightly beautiful.

This tim I also decided to experiment with ravens. I eventually end up with four of them, and I think I’ve found a new love. These guys are so great.

I’m sure there are plenty of flaws in my play, still, so feel free to comment on those, particularly my inability to efficiently counter his zealot/stalker/sentry army.

Lessons learned:

1. Ravens are so awesome.

2. Still need to do better scouting.

3. Go heavier on the marauders instead of marines when facing an army largely composed of stalkers.

Twas an interesting match, but fyi on steppes you can siege up near the ledge that is by the gas of the natural expo and just use scans/floating barracks/air unit to give vision and just shell the shit out of it. Also you can siege the rocks leading to your third from the ledge in your main.
