Hey guys. I just wanted to talk about all those games we play on ladder, all those games you find by just clicking that single button, and all that people.
Its been since August. Im not a great player, and I dont really play that much. But its been like 5-6 months with this game, and I think my mental strengh isnt the good one for this game.
Since I bought this (forgive me) goddamn game, ive meen BM everyday, every single day. I win a game? Then the chat window pops up and the guy says "Your fucking horrible, suck my dick".
Now, this may be fun sometimes, but not always. Im just fucked up. I lost to a guy like an hour ago, just a normal play. What does he say when I leave the game? "LMAO i miss playing against platinum players, so easy!! YOU SUCK"
...Its fine, dude, dont worry, just calms down and go to another game
Short distances, rushes. Gets to your natural. "LMAO your terrible, GG GET OUT"
...just dont worry calms down and find another game.
30 minute game. You win. the fucking chat window pops up. "You know why you won? because your a fucking awful cheap whore, you son of bitch".
I know its just a game. I know I shouldnt be pissed by these things. But I think its just too much, I dont feel like nothing happened when i get some of these craps in my face. Boiling rage grows up inside of you and you cant do NOTHING. I dont know what do think, but for sure i wont be playing during some time. Cheers guys.

I know what you mean, In the higher leagues you get this less and less often in my experience but I can only imagine what it's like at the lower leagues ( don't know what league your in, I'm just saying). If a person says anything at all to me in game i usually block communication with them right when the game is over. I definitely don't blame you for wanting to take a break though.

I was practicing with my 2v2 partner for a CSL match one day, and in probably...6/8 games, we got offensive GG'd. They make me so angry inside ;_; it almost makes me want to offensive GG people back, but I know better than to pass on that angry cycle.

It indeed is better at higher leagues. At least I dont get flamed very much, I suppose moderately average skill at starcraft takes a reasonably high mental maturity

I think the worst period is Platinum to Diamond. Less then platinum and people don't care as much, platinum and above people care for ever single game and thus are more likely to BM. Hear masters league is quite friendly though.
I'm in Silver league btw, havn't been BM'ed in the last ~30 games I've played (some leaving without GG but that's not too bad).

Don't take it personally Red. None of these people are attacking you as an individual, just the person they believe you are in the game.
The anonymity of the internet has been talked about before on this issue, and you have to take something away knowing that none of these people would do this outside of the online environment. I'm not angry and people who rage like this, I pity them.

I am diamond, I say gg before enemy does incase I see I 100% won, also I flame primarly Protoss for playing an imba race while I never say gg in case I leave. Also when I play teammatches and my teamamtes annoyes me I will often tell him to leave so I might win this game solo.
Usually I will also close Sc2 once I lost a match (which is why I have only around 70 1vs1 played and around 60 2vs2, didn't tried the rest yet... don't want to have more teammates to fail my win<

Play a ton of console FPS games, and then you'll be immune to the BM.

Really? I laugh my ass off when people bm me lol.
I'm not sure if you play on NA or EU, but I have never had a problem with bm. The worst I can remember recently is stuff like "I guess you know how to 4gate" and then leave without gg'ing lol. I think from what I've gathered is that the EU server is a lot worse that the NA server for bm, dunno if that's true though. Either ignore it, or treat it like the joke it is.

I can understnad at one point it might get to you. You know what might help? Make some light-hearted banter at the onset of the game. saying Hi! and hf gl! with a smileyface, or making cracks while playing (worker high-5!) can set a good mood going into a game. If you don't do anything people consider "gay" (cannon rush, 6 pool etc) I think the frequency will decrease? I dunno I never get bmed.

I have had it the other way too though. Some people just use their anonymity to be complete jerks. It comes with the territory when the game is popular.
One example of this:
I join a 1v1 we get into the game and I give the standard "gl hf"
I get in reply "FUCK YOU FAGGOT!!!!!!!"
I just shrug it off, I know people are going to cheese, BM, etc. But I don't really take it personally and I know I am probably never going to see that guy again so w/e.
+ Show Spoiler +But if I get offensive GG'ed when they were not even in a clear lead (I usually gg out at normal times and don't wait for many buildings to die)... I will make it a living hell for that person to get a win.

I dont know how it works on bnet 2.0, but when people bmed me on iccup after the game, id just insult them back and then put on /dnd. I like to think that them not being able to respond to me in any way and knowing they cant pisses them off more than anything, and even if it does not, it makes me feel good.

Well you know Shit happens... a lot mostly its people that really think they're the kings of the world and that stuff. I remember I played some guy that clammed he once went to Korea and bet BoxeR and he was a total ass, I went DTs and killed some workers, and the guy was like "you filthy bastard I'm going to f*ck you while you sleep!!!" (stuff like that) then I just went 1a and RAPED him and he was like "YOU MOFO PIECE OF CRAP!!!" (well you get the point) and he really just spammed sh*t till he leaves the game. And I've had a lot of those, really I know it happens a lot but well just tell them "If your going to sh*t talk you might as well sh*t talk it right, Learn from IdrA" Then they just rage quit :D I have about 5 or 6 games like that :D
Just don't listen to them or simply "Just go fucking kill him"

Whenever i get such comments i'll just 6 pool for a few games and im happy as ever againXD

Just ignore the people and continue on, if you don't reply you don't give any weight to their immature remarks. If you happen to be doing any cheese strategies that will increase your odds of getting flamed replies. But if you don't respond you won't let it affect you. They're just kids and they don't mean what they say. Some people are angry at life. On the "Shit my dad says" Tweet there is a quote "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like shit."

This. People are really friendly in SC and SC2. I remember being bm'd in q3 and cs but it was mostly ppl who were better than me who would talk trash. It gave me confidence to get better and eventually be better than them. It seems like in the BM in fps is different from rts as people who bm in fps only bm to people they are superior to, while in rts, you bm people because you lost or they did some weird strategy you weren't prepared for. I remember in cs when i first started, I got destroyed and these dudes would be like "you're f***in trash, uninstall. l2aim. f***in garbage". I was truly garbage lol but once I was good enough and learned how to control my spray and own with the scout, these dudes would never bad mouth me cus I was better than them. But in sc2, you have all these ppl bm'ing you when they are actually worse than you. I remember I got bm'd in a phantom match so I challenged this guy to 1v1 and I crushed him. He still bm'd me saying he wasn't trying and that I was trash. Just take the BM with a grain of salt. If they are really persistent, ask for another challenge to show them how truly bad they are.
