You're making me want to switch to Protoss so I can experience for myself what all the fuss over the overpowered Terran race is about. Gives you a great deal of respect for random players who experience everything, doesn't it?

No it gives me respect for people who play all three races.
Random players are a separate breed altogether deserving of no greater respect than a purely Terran, Protoss or Zerg player.
Speak properly, and in as few words as you can, but always plainly; for the end of speech is not ostentation, but to be understood.

I wouldn't call them gimmicks, but yes, Protoss' strength (storm, ff, colli) is also a crutch; if you don't manage them well you can lose very quickly.

I honestly don't think tvp is bad for protoss at all. I hardly have trouble defending going FE unless I'm taken by some all-in I didnt scout for, which is of course, completely my fault. Not the games.

i really dont know how to respond to this.

gimmicks? protoss spells are what make protoss ... protoss. ever since bw, carpeting the battlefield with storms, doing zealot bombs, reaver micro, and arbiters. omg, its so awesome to play as protoss.

sc2 has different spells, but not truly any less in number. forcefield, blink, psistorm, feedback, graviton beam ... so many options to enhance gameplay.

become a spell master ... it will radically change your view of the game

It might make protoss protoss, but its just not for me. You have NO idea how frustrating it is to see zerglings run in to your main because you missed the forcefield by a single cell, or see you're entire army get wrecked because of a single bad forcefield.

Even said, wasnt nearly as reliant on spells as they are now. In BW, protoss units atleast had the ability to stand on their own (dragoons?zealots?Archons?). Half of the things you listed arent even spells, zealot bombing and reaver micro is more akin to what zerg and terran do with their drops, since protoss drops are virtually nonexistent.

as a player with a lot of experience with all 3 races, I would say respect for terran players is mostly due to how easy protoss is to play relatively. (this is also why they do so well on ladder which baffles blizzard). Terran's macro isn't so straight forward that's the main problem I have when playing them. My only problems as protoss and resisting the urge to go kill him instead of attempting to defend muta harass.
In terms of overall (mechanical of course) difficulty, I can't see anyone disputing Zerg>Terran>Protoss.

As a Terran, I really respect Protoss or Zerg players who have to constantly use up Chrono Boost or Inject. If I forget to use Mule, I can just use them at once later

nice post and word for those banelings. I am just a mediocre diamond zerg but sometimes I even think that banelings are way too powerful. Bio play is a joke in the late game. Heavy mech play is still beaten with mass lings. I wonder if blizz will do anything about this.

Yeah, Protoss macro is relatively easy compared to the other races, but i think blizzard makes up for this with their very unforgiving micro.
