so this is really just a word of encouragement to other plat or below who arent ranking up. it will happen eventually (as long as you get better of course) i personally was at 186 wins to 168 losses in my 1v1 and had been consistently playing diamond players with a mix of wins and losses....after the last few days going on a 5-0 run against only diamond players (some of which actually cannon rushed and proxy gated) i was getting frustrated....but even if you are in this position keep hope alive because as i found out all it takes is one more game and then you are in.... :D i actually had something similar i got stuck in silver for many games in 2v2 and after only playing plat and diamond teams for forever was promoted to plat....so dont give up you will make it eventually....

For some reason a friend and I got placed bronze in 2v2. So now for almost 10 games we keep either stomping bronze to gold teams or we get stomped by platinum teams (we're not really good at 2v2). Our ladder looks something like this:

#1 Some Team 1300 Points
#2 Us 150 Points
#3 Next Team 40 Points

Don't know how Bnet determines ladder ranks :/

it seems to be pretty much just keep going and eventually you will be placed....like in my silver which was random i got stuck with people that did stuff like only make cannons...not a single unit so i got destroyed....just bad luck and about 50 games later it jumped me to plat....i think what it does is instead of slowly moving you up and down it lets you get a decent number of games in and then promote you to a place for another round of games.....wash rinse repeat, yada yada.

and i know diamond doesnt mean anything like youre great.....hence why i was frustrated at there being cheesers in diamond.....but it does give you a tendency to play hight quality players and shows you arent a noob in general....you have some room to talk if only a little.

Only thing diamond gives you is that you get to trashtalk all your friends that are lower.

lol totally agree but sadly in my case all my real life friends are bronze or dont play so they are like ha we totally 6 pooled that guy....no wait what where did the other guy get that huge army....what do you mean economy....so its no point lol but ill be sure to get lots of plat friends online now to do that

not sure but you might be thinking of the beta when platinum was the hightest rank...there was also a copper league below bronze if i remember right

Nah, a lot of people just couldnt get promoted no matter how well they did after release. InControl took a while and I think it was CauthonLuck (not actually sure thought) who took a really long time. Could've happened to Strelok too.

Took me 40 games on my smurf account to get promoted to diamond on a 27-13 w/l ratio.
I was already facing 1600-1800 diamonds so it was normal I'd get promoted. Just don't know if this was fast enough to get promoted :p

I don't really get how the matchmaking system works.. they had me going against Platinum rank 1s for a long time, and now that I'm promoted to Platinum, I'm still going against Platinum rank 1s.

The way they play, though, I feel like if I stopped being so damn scared of losing I could log on and make it to Diamond before the sun comes up..

I think there needs to be a vacancy in an existing diamond division (probably by way of someone being demoted) or a new one has to be created as you finish/start a game for a promotion to occur. I went on a 12-0 tear after 20 games played and didn't see a promotion until about my 50th game, about 3 weeks later into a division with only 40 or so people in it. My friend with barely a 50% win rate over his first 50 games made it 2 days after I went on my streak...

I'm guessing as time goes on less new divisions are being created and/or less people are being demoted, so it becomes harder and harder to crack in, unless you're lucky with your queue timing and whatnot.

i know how you feel.....especially in the beta i was like oh no i might lose and mess up my score or mess up my streak of 4 for the acheivment....one thing that sometimes works is just play some custom games to get warmed up to get the nerves out.
