Lately I've been listening to a lot of music from my childhood from when I was like 7 years old or so. You know that music that you listened to waaaaay back when and fuckin' loved, then you grew up/out of. Anyway I've recently rediscovered Faith No More.
It's crazy because they were my favorite band until I was like 13 years old. I grew up with my grandparents and then my mom snagged custody of me for a year when I was in first grade or so, and she used to jam out to Faith No More/Metallica/GUNS N FUCKIN ROSES etc. and that shit always stuck with me. GNR is still my favorite band to ever walk the face of the Earth, and Axl is still God. Fuck the haters.
After I went through the whole rediscovery of Faith No More I decided to move on to GNR's new album "Chinese Democracy"... There's been so much fucking flack and shit thrown there way for that album that it's about ridiculous. I'm a GNR purist, 100%. And the first time that I listened to it I was like... holy fucking shit this is goddamn lame. Then I listened to it again, found a track that I liked a lot, listened to another track... then another.. then another.. and eventually it became one of my favorite albums of all time. I just didn't get it at first. It was a completely different animal than the original GNR, I just wasn't able to see it at first.
So now I'm just like wtffffff have I been missing. I am a quick to the gun hater. If I hear something and within 2 seconds I'm not liking it, then fuck it. But after listening to the Chinese Democracy album, I really want to explore some new type of music. I've always hated on trance/techno/rap now I'm wondering fuck, what is that great shit that's out there that I am completely missing.
The main bands I listen to now are: Authority Zero, Faith No more, Bad Religion & Greg Graffin solo album, Elliot Smith, the Joey Cape & Tony Sly acoustic album (If you like Elliot Smith then you'll probably like this one), Rise Against,KRS-One, X-Clan, Dead Prez etc. etc. regardless
if anyone knows of any good techno/trance/rap/ ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! somebody slung me some Asta Kask from Sweden (i believe? maybe Finland?) and I fucking loved that shit too

When I said that I hated rap, i meant like that new rap shit "POPPIN' DEM BOTTLES, WHURRR MAH HO'Z AT, GIT IT GIT IT, WHURR MY LAMBO @?! FUCK YOU POOR PEOPLE, IMMA DO ME SUN!"
I could go on and post music I like from different genres all day, but I think this will have to do. Hopefully someone who reads this will appreciate the music.
If you're a Faith No More fan you should check out Mike Patton's Peeping Tom project. Every track has a different guest on it, most are really good electronica or hiphop artists that have great back catalogs of their own that I highly recommend exploring.

Snaiil!!!! love the hip hop you introduced me to, fucking loved it. Hated Ratatatatatatatat, and the Swedish pop kinda weirded me out LOL. Kero One kind of reminded me of Guru. Cyne and Nujabes are absolutely solid. Love it.
