So, in a few years ill have to deliver what we call TCC, its like a monografy on the end of your course.
I have decided to make something quite epic.
Basically I want to make a work about the changes in the human psyque when life becomes exponentially more fragile, try to eventually get to talk about a zombie apocalipse like scenario and how it would change us is many ways.
Would probably have to delve into themes like psychopathy, primitive sociology, tribalism, etc...
But i think it could be really interesting, for the time being, im just trying to find all material avaible about the theme, recently i have read the walking dead comics, and its the best exploration on the subject i know of, trying to find that guide to survive the zombie apocalipse now.

2 very important things you must decide for this sort of thing.
1. How did the zombie apocalypse begin? Like was it an infection or mutation... etc..
2. What kind of zombies are they? Fast? Slow? Do they mutate into the guys from L4D?
ive always wondered what id do if it happened. gl with this

thanks im DLing it right now!

Im gonna go for some sort of virus/biological weapon so its easier for my teachers to grasp.
Im also gonna start GMing a GURPS campaign where the scenario is a zombie apocalipse in NY

You should get the terminology correct: Zombacalypse
I don't know how that translates into Portuguese, but it's probably still awesome.
Anyway, check out Night of the Living Dead by George A Romero...it's basically the grand daddy of today's take on Zombies. Resident Evil (the games) are a Japanese take on Romero's work.
World War Z is by Max Brooks (author of Zombie Survival Guide) and is, in my opinion, a better read.

World War Z would he helpful

I would look into the book "Earth Abides." It's a classic post apocalyptic novel and talks about tribalism, survival when there are such few numbers. I even wrote a blog about it.

It is not a zombie apocalypse, but a plague that causes an apocalypse. However, there are extremely strong parallels. Definitely worth a read.

Not the best book to read imo, it's mostly about the author trying to stamp his point of view of zombies, the zombie apocalypse and people's reaction as if it were the complete and universal truth.
The best way to prepare yourself according to my experience is to find a zombie movie director/movie style and watch all of it with a few friends and a few beers. Spend some quality time and at the end of the movie when you will all stop laughing (especially if you just watched running zombies) you and your friends will actually start making up different situations and it's going to be really easy to progress into an essay from there.

World War Z is exactly what you need good sir. EXACTLY.

If you can drudge through it -_-
edit: May I suggest Shaun of the Dead as reference material?

Well these scientific reasons only proof we would not be extinct by them, but I find it hard to believe that a global outbreak would be easily resolved.

Listen to the audio book of World War Z!

Thanks for the suggestions, im working on getting it all, gonna start reading it and start building a bibliografy

Read the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks.

The first stuff that comes to mind for me is World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide, as said above. Also, I think reading War Day by Whitley Strieber and James Kunetka could be good. Although it isn't about a zombie apocalypse, it's about two men traveling across America after a large nuclear war. It's been a while since I read it, but it could give you some ideas about people's behavior after large scale disasters(nuclear war, zombies, etc).
