So I've been following/lurking in this thread since it was made and reading a lot of the information that was linked. I kinda feel like throwing some money at it for shits and giggles, but I dunno how I feel about putting my SSN and bank information into pokerstars. Probably a stupid fear, but is there anyone that can attest to the safety of the transactions?

I deposited $150 into PokerStars some time last year, won $30 over two months, and withdrew everything. I've since been busy with school and haven't had time to play anymore, but I can attest that I wasn't swindled or anything. I paid through e-check straight from a bank account not a credit card. Can't say anything about any other method of payment.

Thanks guys for the advice.
This is a great idea. I found a site with computers I can practice against. Once I am comfortable, any free sites that anyone recommends?

Anyone else feel that the play money games play out WAAAY different from even the 0.01/0.02 and 0.02/0.05 games? If you just want to learn the dynamics of the game then I guess it's alright but I found it frustrating to play with people who are okay with throwing around 10000 play dollars but who would piss their pants in a 15 cent pot (like me).
