EPTSo today I played 3 tournaments. Really hoping to just win one of them my first game of the day, dDoRo, one of hte highest ranked protoss on NA. Also my friend, invites me to play AllAboutYou, also a top terran player, We play.
My build order I do vs him is perfect, I expand early, get obs out and catch a dropship coming with 4 hellions. But I'm an idiot and supply block myself and my army is in front of my nat by the time he drops, its still running back and I still lose about 5 ish probes. I pump out a second obs keep it close to my main in case of a cloak banshee follow up. It does, I also mistakenly moved it in front of my nat and I lost about 5 probes. I'm still not behind cause I expanded; so I take my third base and his push comes - I have collosi and good gate count but i fucking misrallied my probes to my third and i have like 12 idle probes. I lost, so my first game of the day.. terrible.
They asked if I was going to play in the wolf cup, i said I didn't know, so I logged in as a backup and wolf says "slained, can't believe I didnt see you, you're good, you're in" something like that. So I check out the brackets and I see that I can possibly face dDoRo in the third game. I beat out 2 protoss in about 10 minutes, I just 5 warpgate push, don't want to waste my time with scrubs. I pm dDdoRo to "hurry up lol" he just finished his first opponent. Vegasminion aka yokoblue casts our game. My mom says to help hold my niece in abit, so I decide I should just do another 4-5 warpgate, it fails. No big deal. I have a positive record vs dDoRo anyways and I tell him he better win this cup. (He ends up coming in second, pretty nice considering he beats out skillet, and some other pretty good players, too bad 200$ was only for first)
Next tournament I'm in, is the Semi-Pro gaming league, its no prize, but i really need to win some of these tournaments to get my name out, and hopefully attract sponsors someday. Usually not too many good players join, and its good practice with tournament situations. e.g BO3s After 2-0'ing two protoss I meet up with a player named qwerty, now after losing the first game on blistering legitimately to blink stalkers. I decide that I think I can handle playing him with mirror build orders, cause I felt I was mechanically more capable. So game 2 I did a 4 gate build which was what he did last game and it worked quite well. The last game I also do a 4 gate build, I even manage to expand off it as he teched blink. Perhaps I shouldve done something like phoenix immortal, although I realy despise the bug atm. So I'm way ahead in the game, but I decide that hes probably gonna expand too and I'll just hold him back for a while longer. Little do I know he doesn't expand almost runs out of minerals and beats me with DTs, totally my fault for not getting a robo. Oh well.. (he ends up winning the tournament easily)

The last tournament I was in, was the Top Replays tournament, with only a 25$ prize. Still a lot of decent players signed up. I end up playing against some zergs.. Oh my I love playing zergs, I recently developed a really strong voidray zealot timing push, that proceeds into a really nice late game. Too bad I only played about 2 zergs today. The first opponent I played really complimented me on my build order, saying it was very well constructed. TY TY. The next zerg player I played wanted his manager to watch.. So I was like.. uh?? anyways I decied to let him anways. I do a 12 gate on match point and kill a couple of lings and sniped his queen with 2 zealots. Afterwards he sends the lings to my base and I manage to kill about another 10 lings with 3 zealots, he sees me have my nat up already with a cannon, and decides to forfeit the rest of the bo3.
Now since I had a bye first round, I'm in the semi's and you never guess who I am facing? Its AllAboutYou again, I'm excited cause it wasn't my first game of the day and I wanted to show him I'm a lot better than what I did earlier. First game I do my patented 5 gate techless push, and win really early. It usually works the first time I do it, against pros even. Next game, I think out and veto metalpolis cause thats how I lost to him in the first game of the day. So we're forced to play on iCCup sanshorn and I play straight up, 1 gate fast expand into 4 gate 1 robo collosi. I have the watch towers and manage to deny any drops, with 3 base economy, I overwhelm him. So 2-0, he then says gg and leaves the chat. Me, since I'm such a sportsman I read up the rules and realize it was a Bo5, I ask the admin, then PM allAboutYou and he doesn't reply and logs off. So anywho, I heard the same thing happened to stalife and spades. So I was excited to be in the finals, but he comes back on after the admin already advanced me. I decide I should play the rest of the series and he really raelly steps up his games.
Doing drops + pressure in the front, note the last 3 maps we played were much better for drops, a lot harder to scout them coming. No way I could've seen the drop come on the gigantic map of MatchPoint with no xel'nagas. Metalopolis was next, the map I veto'd (we ran out of maps) I wanted to recycle the maps there was no rules on what to do when we ran out of maps so he objects to my first decision of recycling sanshorn mists and quits the game and says metalopolis. *sigh* I host it and lose to the drops. I had about 5-6 zealots idle in my main at one point due to splitting up my army and losing track. Anywho, the last map was iCCup enigma. We both FE'd I misrallied my first collosus at the same time he pressures my front, he stims kills it, but i cut off about 75% of the forces and end up getting the better deal. Since I moved up a bit to kill those units, I was really out of position when he drops my nat line. His medivacs just barely out of sight of my obs, again wtf do these maps have no way to vision these drops coming. I end up losing about 10 probes which probably costed me the game. I just couldn't make it back inside my main. Eventually he lifts flies out and I move to the front cause i catch a glimpse of an army moving towards the front, I put a cannon and stalker in the back. But he drops 2 medivacs worth of units while my army chases the army in front. He lures me out too far so I have to attack, but since I lost those 10 probes early, his econ crushed me. GGs allaboutyou really deserved that win, hopefully next time I can get a better map pool, it really sucks losing a set and being forced to play on a map you didn't want to choose.
