Hi all, its been a while!
Annoyingly my quest to go from rags to riches in SC2 got halted momentarily by real-life.. work I was away from the game for around 5 days and oh my did it show when i got back!!
My mechanics were rusty, my APM dropped from average 80 to around 30 ( :| ) and I just couldn't grasp what to do!
This led me to getting annoyed with the game - mostly cos I play Zerg and slow hands does NOT bode well..
In turn, I decided to play as Random for a little bit, and have found I actually quite enjoy Terran (I know, I know..). I blame this largely on my strength of micro > macro, and the way I really enjoy kiting with ROFL-auders etc.
I was playing today with a guy who added me as a practice partner through the TL thread, we decided to start up a 2v2 team to play for fun and not be too serious about it - we found that we actually did quite well.
At this point I am still playing Zerg in ladder; why? There is one main thing stopping me playing Terran... I just can't keep my money low!
No matter what I do, I find I just can't keep low money - i've watched pro videos, streams etc, it always hovers around 1000-1500 from early-mid game (obviously not too early..) I've tried having 5 rax, 2 fact, 2 star all producing, but my money just rockets.. especially with expos!!
I normally manage my money quite well as zerg, mostly cos you can mass produce units, but I really struggle with this as Terran.
So for this entry of my blog, my community question is - how the hell do I keep low money as Terran?!
Hopefully this is something simple, maybe I just don't have the Terran mechanics right yet (I played Protoss first, then Zerg, now Terran :S)
Edit: My APM is getting back to what it was, hovering around 60-70 right now.. I know for lower leagues (as i'm not even plat) that this is easily enough APM, and that it will rise as I get more used to multitasking, i'm just really struggling to multitask as terran, where as with Zerg I found I can easily multitask things like micro + inject larvae + produce units
I find my biggest downfall to be managing expos, and multitasking to make buildings, it takes me too long to pick a scv, get the building down and then get back to where i was.
The next part of the blog will most definitely include my progression as Terran :-)
Note: Please refrain from posting any "OP" comments.
Curzed.

if you like terran, play terran. just play the race you have most fun with. that's the best one to play.
make a lot of production buildings and expand more. after 3 orbitals you don't need any more so just make the other CCs into PFs. there's your answer.
this is my 1000th post :D

More buildings, hotkey them all and never stop producing. Also get 2 eng bays and an armory depending on what units you have. Also make sure you get add ons onto your barracks before you start to make units from them.
Get more apm or you wont be able to do everything you need to, 100+ is enough for SC2.

See? Now here's your problem. Make a comple of custom games vs AIs of your choice and practice something. I sometimes do that to get my hotkeys right or to constantly remind myself to build SCVs. Seriously, go practice vs AI for a couple (maybe a dozen? but that's a stretch) games, and save yourself from the agony of playing Z ATM.

you may not know this, but you can just select a few scvs (box some from your minerals) and tell them to build a barracks (or multiple baracks/facts w/e) and the ones that are building stuff will get to it and the others will continue mining minerals. This does pose somewhat of a problem to those used to shift-clicking their workers back to minerals after working, but with the "idle workers" button, you can just ctrl-click that and send your idle scvs back to minerals every minute or so.
As far as keeping money low, just hotkey all of your buildings (I even keep them on the same hotkey and just tab through them). One of the biggest problems some players have is keeping up with supply depots. You can queue up as many units as you want, but without a good 10-20 extra supply cushion (late game ofc) you will find yourself with alot of queued units, but not much actual army. focus on building depots while macroing!
