So I'm stuck on page 1 of 10.
My elective course of "Technology, Power, and Change in Politics" - basically philosophy, power, and technology put together. It's pretty common sense and easy to understand but my inability to write essays really get the best of me.
Instructions are pretty simple, yet I don't know where to start. The difference that I have compared to 99% of the people is my inability to write proper essay papers. This paper is due tomorrow evening yet I'm still on page 1. You can see where I'm coming from.
I've never really been able to write good nor decent essays, which always brings my marks down to 2.5~3.0ish.
I have no idea what to do yet I'm posting here. Yes I know it's stupid.
I've started trying to write it since a week ago, yet I've gotten nowhere.

I suffer from the same problem... it's hard for me to write things when I don't have everything prepared before I start. This kind of block really kills me on cold writing prompts -SATs, APs, etc. I try to rely on my MC scores on those tests to cancel things out... didn't work so well on the AP though D:

you have to simply just write. write whatever comes to mind no matter how unorganized it may sound. do not give up midway because it starts to get teidous. just keep writitng.

This is what exactly my teacher taught me. I could hardly write 1 page for an essay a few years ago, but I can bang out 10 pages like nothing now.
Write whatever comes to mind about the topic. You'll be amazed at how much good stuff you can come up with.

How is it hard to write an essay  Unless English isn't your first language or you're super math orientated and just plain bad at language or something  , it shouldn't be that hard...

The worst thing is how you can still read TL while banned. It really doesn't help at all unless you're a compulsive spammer T_T

The advice so far is quite solid; think "stream of consciousness" writing--write whatever you can and then refine the raw writing you've pumped out. That way, you at least have some material to work with and are not left with a blank sheet of paper (or computer screen...unless you have TL on...but that problem has been resolved in a timely manner :D).
The only problem I find with temp banning to increase productivity is the fact that you can still view the site; you essentially can do everything except post or PM (I think).
Is there a way to IP ban without nuking someone? I might have to ask for one sometime >n<;

Im the many that cant draft or anything for a proper paper. Maybe its my sense of perfection or I just hate writing English literature.
