i hit 140+wpm before on this (or 760 cpm which is probably a better measure tbh), usually average around 130 but i really hate this website because of the delay. everyone could probably score like 10wpm higher if they showed the words in advance.. i'm sure a lot of people have my experience of type-type-type-pause-type-type-type-pause etc

quite annoying

not the best website for this imo, although it is nice that the most common words are used. Shame not sentences either >.<

haha agreed man it's like the greatest and the worst typing test. i love how it uses common words, it's stoopid on other sites when you have to type some paragraph of Aesop's fables or some other bs with rediculous grammer. but it's frustrating that it doesnt show the next line until u hit the last word. so agreed.

damn thanks for the link... my best was 553 pts... so i think top 10 or so. but god damn there are some blazing fast typers on this site for sure. :D

Locked, if ur out there, u should use camtasia and record/upload u doing this test. it would be like poetry in motion. same goes for exalted too :p

I like typeracer.com usually I end between 100-130 wpm depending on the mistakes I make. It makes me realize how bad my form is though I really only use my index and middle finger on each hand

Ugh, I've really slowed down. I used to be consistently at 145-150. One typeracer I hit 161 once and put me at the top of the leaderboard.

EDIT: I usually don't make that many mistakes either <_<

EDIT2: I'm also usually faster on tests that involve sentences or blocks of text. It makes much more sense in my head and I don't have to do this whole "type for a while then pause for the next screen to load" business.

I type about 45-60 words a minute it seems if I'm trying to go fast. I've never really concentrated on typing speed before--which seems foolish because I could really cut down on the time I spend typing up reports and take better notes...

Average is actually somewhere around 25-35. Don't forget about the millions of old people and the technologically inept

I type at 100-110 words per minute but I can rarely formulate sentences and think about the spelling of the words that quickly so I don't really worry about typing any faster :D

I feel like I was doing pretty well, but at every second line break (when the words change) I took a significant pause. Ended up with 99 WPM, 2 mistakes, and like 500 something cpm. Trying again.

Edit: Mmm, 112 wpm, 647 cpm on my second try. Spent less time on those pauses. I still prefer complete sentences, though.

Also, how many of you above 120 wpm or like 700 cpm use Dvorak? I'm considering switching, but I don't know how much it'll help.
