I highly doubt any of you remember a few years back the blog I wrote about my ex girlfriend breaking up with me. If you want to read it you can but it doesnt pertain to this.
Its been a long time and I felt like an update would be nice, even if just to see for myself where I am and where Im going.

Since then Ive gotten a new girlfriend. We've been together 10 months, almost 11. We're doing alright.

I still battle with depression big time. It keeps me from getting motivated and sticking to things. I also have Lyme disease and got anxiety from it, and its gotten a lot worse now to the point where I cant go most places with taking anxiety medicine before I go. It makes doing things a hassle and can be aggravating for friends and my girlfriend, but Im working on the anxiety part little by little.

Ive recently been put on a new depression medicine. Now Im taking Cymbalta, Celexa, and Deplin for my depression (the Celexa is new, she doesnt want to take me off Cymbalta just in case Celexa doesnt help) and Klonopin for my anxiety.

I was looking for ways to get motivated and I stumbled upon that XPIRL thing. Real life experience. It kept me motivated a lot longer than the thread lasted. It made sure I did mundane simple tasks like brushing my teeth and stuff that I didnt always do when I was depressed and unmotivated. Thanks to whoever came up with that

I stopped doing that when it got boring and my reward system didnt really help me keep motivated to keep doing the XPIRL.

Ive been trying to exercise more. I rarely go to the gym but I have a membership. Id rather jog outside than on a treadmill and I dont do much weight lifting. Im 5'9" and weight 170ish. I consider myself average weight. I dont necessarily want to lose weight, but I want to stay active because it helps with depression, self esteem, and will make me look better (probably? lol).

Ive been jogging every other day now and Ive done really long 2.5 hour skateboard sessions after work once a week for two weeks (hopefully will keep that up) to stay active. The route I take around my neighborhood is .9 miles. Yeah I should just go around another block to make it a mile, but baby steps here.

That brings me to a question I have as well. I get criticized by some people for having "tits" or "boobs" even though Im average weight. They aren't big but I feel like they are bigger than they should be for a dude lol. When I was jogging shirtless today, for example, some guy yelled 'nice tits' to me as he drove by in his car. I know people say stupid shit and driving by and yelling stuff is fun for everyone, but I still want to find a way to fix that. Would lifting weights or doing pushups help get my "tits" to turn into pecs? Im not looking to get ripped. I just want to look toned or whatever.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what exercise(s) they do that would help that area? And how about the abs? I dont want a 6 pack (Id look ridiculous with a 6 pack), just a toned stomach.

As of right now things seem to be going forward well. The new medicine and the exercising will hopefully continue and lead to other things as well.
As for the girlfriend situation, only time will tell.

But really if they aren't bitch tits, it shouldn't be that hard to get rid of them.

Ive always been somewhat self conscious even though its not that bad. Maybe if I was really overweight they'd be boobs but still. Better to just get rid of the issue all together

Start swimming every other day

10 laps first week than 15 next than 20 than 25 than 30

If you dont have a better defined chest after that i would be very surprissed. It is really hard at first but it has become one of the funnest things in my life. Best of luck.

Hmm Ill try to get to a pool now and then. My gym doesnt have one and the only one I have accessible to me is round... Thats a good idea though and itd keep me cool in this ridiculously hot weather

Any other do-at-home or weights-related exercises that could help abs/pecs?

well 170 at 5"9 is slightly over weight (or at least can be if you're not some mountain of muscle) but working at it at all should be able to bring that down no problem if you feel you really want to

push ups are reallllly good for pecs

Pec exercises are not going to get rid of any extra boobage. The only way to do that is going to be to reduce your overall body fat percentage. Any type of cardio you enjoy combined with a healthy diet is gonna be your best bet in my opinion. The other benefit of losing fat is it will help with getting a six pack, its again more about losing fat then gaining muscle to get one.

Abs are a functino of your general bodyfat %.

If you're thinking about being even more serious about your general health, you should check out this thread. It's full of good tips, smart people and positive vibe.

Swimming and the other suggestions do sound pretty good too.

i dont think you are running enough for you to lose that much weight. technically, you gotta run for at least 20 minutes for it to count as aerobic exercise, and i really doubt anybody takes 20 minutes to run .9 miles XD. it might sound ridiculous to you, but i say you should at the very least double (preferably triple or quadruple) the distance you do. preferably, you will go out 4 times a week to do such a run. if it seems too hard for you, just go slow enough so that you can make it. once its managable, add another lap and build up to 4 laps. if you can jog ~4 miles at a pace that is somewhat comfortable to you without stopping, i think that should do you a lot of good, both for the "tits" part as well as for your cardio. and fuck those douchebags, just keep running with ur shirt off and give them the finger cuz they really should go fuck themselves

oh, and if you want toning, you should just do pushups. i feel they are underrated compared to weights and stuff, but you can do them anywhere anytime youre motivated, which is the good part! maybe you can try following this as a motivator http://hundredpushups.com/week3.html

If you have a gym membership, you might as well use it to firm up your tits. Check out the Health and Fitness thread, start on Starting Strength and eat right. You'll have a nice body in no time.
