All known to TL there's alot of people that have alot of posts, and many more than have very few posts at all. Though over time even the casual poster tends to accumulate a fair amount to their name.
But i wonder how often do you go to click that post button and then you dont? Or when you have fully typed up a reply and go 'hmm this doesnt really contribute to the topic at all' and just hit that backspace button in order to keep the quality on tl just that little bit higher.
Personally i find myself doing this maybe once or twice a week and i think nearly everytime ive done it, it's partially worked my way into not getting temp banned for the poor quality/trash post that might have been.
so tl members how often do you not post? Or if you have any good stories of a great post getting deleted cause of random events or interesting things that have been unsaid share em up.

i never make posts that wouldnt be good anyways so i always post what i want to post. The answer is never.
On the other hand i dont post much.

I post in most threads I see. Although I do find my self hitting the backspace to stop myself from getting banned (I don't do it enough though xD), for example, I'm in the middle of calling someone a "SKT dicksucking fanfaggot", I then realized I'd get at least 1-2 weeks for that. So I stopped.

I don't post that often so I don't delete stuff I already written before. Back in the day I got semi warned for a crappy topic lol. Mostly I make a decision not to post because others have beat me to it or something similar and me just going "yea what he said" isn't that great of a post.

I do it whenever someone posts something stupid and instead of refuting them I simply want to let someone else do it for me.

except i usually dont hit backspace lol. i think my next ban will be a perm, so i better watch it unless i wanna see johncoltrane with a big lock next to it

I need to learn when not to post blogs more often, but by the time I've spent 20 minutes writing one up I usually just think, "Oh... fuck it, what's the worst that could possibly happen?"
Then I check to make sure I haven't said anything that could be construed as racist before I click post

Probably a third of the posts I make I get midway through and realize I'm not really making any point at all and just delete it.
This does not apply to LR or blogs

I do this pretty often, sometimes I read it and it's not as witty as I thought or I stop giving a fuck. I very rarely write anything that I thought would break rules. lol I was about to delete this post so I guess this is a good example

I don't know what it's like for other TL'ers but I feel like I don't post very proportionally to how many hours I lurk daily. I'll chuckle at a blog or think of something to say in a general/sc2 thread but then I'll think "man this really isn't that important," and just navigate elsewhere with my half-completed post turned to fairy dust or whatever happens to unsubmitted replies.

I 'don't post' many... many times per week. However, percentage-wise the numbers don't really mean much >.>
Though I have typed up long posts to accidentally close the tab. Those make me very sad.
So I stopped typing up very long posts!

More than 50% of the time when I decide to post something, I reread it and decide that it sounds fucking dumb and erase all of it.

When i know im gonna make a long post with complex stuff like spoiler in spoiler with quotes and link ,,
i open word and copy/paste the finnished material into the reply box once im done.

I'd say I'd have almost twice the post count if I didn't hold back. And there would be more stupid arguments I'd be engaged in. I'm very picky about what I post.
Although sometimes it just comes to me, most of the time I'm thinking real hard. However, few blogs I've posted I did minor checking before posting. For better or worse. But otherwise, I just want to not get banned, so I'm making sure I'm contributing something. Also, if I can't get past one or two sentences, I just give up.

I read this and went "hey, I haven't posted in this thread yet" - but yeah, around 1/3 of the times...

as of recently i tend to hit post then just edit out the message afterwards

I don't like to post unless I'm really sure that I am fine from embarassment so for the very few times I do type, I do post. I lurk a lot but I'm starting to get out of it.
