Hahaha, good blog. It was a good enjoyable read, definitely made me laugh at both situations. Well played outsmarting the teacher both times! 5/5
And I'm pretty sure about 97% sure that Xiao is still in high school. Notice how she says "teacher" and not "professor". It may be just me but I never called any teachers professors before college nor professors teachers in college...

You should not say that. I prefer people thinking I am high school girl.

At first I thought the thread title was meant to be a pun... Then I saw that it was by XiaoJoyce-
Bread does get sweeter... (I've actually tried this - you only take a tiny piece of bread to keep in your mouth though) Cuz of like amylase or s/t.

I find XiaoJoyce- interesting mainly due to her style of English, is that ok.

Sorry, but I'll do exactly that. There's a lot I could say. Some of it wouldn't be relevant since I don't understand a lot of the Chinese cultural references and some of it is based solely on my American perspective when things overseas are much different. This, though, I believe is very relevant, therefore I will post it!
I do not like it, he is so dead positive bread will turn sweet after chewing for an hour because it is written black and white in books. He has not test it himself. He should chew it for an hour too and confirm the book was right, not blindly believing in books
What you have demonstrated is a great example of theory versus experience. Believe me, when you're out of school and into the real world experience carries much more weight than theory. However, in the classroom, learning from a book is about the only thing you can do in a classroom apart from a lab or practicum. I really like how you took it upon yourself to test the theory to see if it works.
The best approach, I feel, is to combine theory with experiences gained from a hands-on study. For example, you chewed bread for an hour. Apart from sounding gross, you didn't taste anything sweet. Does this mean saliva doesn't break down starch into glucose when you chew bread? Not necessarily, so if you were to claim that bread doesn't taste sweet after you chew it based off one test then you're just as bad as the teacher that blindly believes a book.
Theory says one thing while your experience says another. Why is that? Did you position the bread on your tongue to be in the most advantageous position to taste any difference? Does the type of bread you use make a difference? Theoretically, how long should the conversion take place and stay in your mouth? How much glucose needs to be converted before you can taste it? Finally, we have your teacher's conclusion - is there something wrong with your tste buds that you can't taste sugar? Honestly, his conclusion cannot be validated without some ridiculous experiments involving your mouth and known quantities of sugar.
Most of those questions seem rather silly, but the underlying principle is using the results of your experiments and experiences to shape what you know about a theory. Validating this yourself is probably the best possible way you personally can learn the material.

There once was a guy named TheAntz Who'd go into crazy girl rants "Oh damn you sound hot Please give me a shot I just want to get in your pants."

You seem to care too much about what other people think. Who cares what they think! Just be yourself
For example, I'm not ashamed of my burning, passionate love for Bisu, yet I am a guy. I don't care what other people think!
edit: This is in regards to the idea of trying to be popular, etc. Maybe I'm just misreading all of this...it's been known to happen.
