When I started watching Starcraft, ACE was the team of past stars trying to reclaim their glory while balancing practice with their duties as Air Force members. It was the ultimate underdog story, and to this day I still feel a little excited when ACE gets a win against all odds.
ACE was a team of past champions (and Oversky, Yellow, and Cloud). Now, ACE seems like the scraps of other teams.
Total amount of OSL/MSL winners on ACE:
June 2010: 5
Fall 2010: 2 (Anytime, Reach, and Casy will be gone)
2011: None. (Bye to Xellos and GoRush)
Yellow, despite famously not being an OSL/MSL winner, will also leave this summer.
Who knows, maybe players like Cool and Maka will be dominating SC2 in 2011 and BW will be forgotten. But if BW stays, it just won't feel the same without ACE.
Some of you still have hope that KT will play Yellow and Reach, and OZ will play Anytime. I'm so sorry to let you know about this, but look at BoxeR's play time after returning to SKT. A few appearances here and there, but mostly nowhere to be seen.
I was hoping ACE would take July, Midas, Nada, Savior (before the scandal was out), Bisu, anyone who had had past glory and could relive it. But Pusan, FBH, and especially Rock and ggaemo just don't have that star power, that epic feel that maybe, just maybe, they could come back.
Maybe ACE will win more games next year. But it won't be the same ACE.

just wait a few more years. then the more recent champs (bisu JD flash calm effort forgg etc) will join ACE (that is, if sc2 doesnt completely take over)

Ace's games recently have been exciting and impressive, especially Reach and Yellow. Ace is one of the team's I enjoy seeing most in proleague, and I don't think any of their new players were bad choices, sure they aren't great, but its Ace, and as soon as Reach and Yellow start succeeding they need to bring in someone new so they don't knock anyone good out of proleague 
Edit: On a side note, hoping to see Nada vs Reach tomorrow!

I keep hoping that they'll one day make playoffs. Maybe I just watched too many cheesy sports movies as a kid.

Concerning KT and Oz playing their old players upon return, I actually don't doubt they will.. SKT was already full of really good players, so Boxer couldn't really compete with the likes of Bisu, Best and Fantasy. But look at Oz, and the horribly pathetic state of its Protoss lineup. And I'm sure Yellow is better than Hoejja or 815, and Reach is certainly skilled enough to compete with Violet.

Agreed Anytime, Reach and Yellow actually win more games than them.

But there's still chintoss.
I agree that Yellow has a decent chance at playing, but Reach will probably have the same role as tempest, at best.
