I'm making this thread because I'm concerned about people boycotting SC2, giving 1 star on amazon and anyother sites and any kind of boycott.
Doing that you are not only boycotting Blizzard or SC2, you are also boycotting E-Sports, the progammers and ourselves!
If we boycott like that, we are going to have LESS tournaments, LESS sponsors, lesser new players and less money envolving our beloved game. its bad for everyone!
It is a loss-loss situation.
I know there is a lot of things to improve, but still no reason for that much rage YET.
so, remember:
1- we won't have monthly payment, which is superb. How can this game survive without monthly payment and no ads at the same time? its crazy if you think from this view point.
2- they let KESPA handle proleague since years and years ago, when they could just had have a big fight regarding intelectual rights. Kespa have never had any blizzard approval or anything, totally amateur in this point, and Blizzard just "closed their eyes" to it.
3- also, we did not have to pay monthly to play SC1.
4- they made a system on SC1 where other companies could make their own ladder system without any contact to blizzard, like iCCup.
I know 3 and 4 are somehow obvious and expected, but they could just be harsh or stupid to not have allowed it.
The game is still in beta, be patient, they are going to improve everything, even after the release!
If I were the Blizzard owner, I would have this thought: - What if a company makes a new and revolutionary RTS/MMORPG game and "steal" all my SC/WoW players?
won't you think you will need a lot of money to survive any crisis, money for investment, for new games and to improve and keep what you have?
Can you guarantee that WoW will survive for so long that they can just make other games without monthly payment and no ads?
I am ignorant on this subject, how in the hell they make money if not from WoW and selling games? is this money enough for everything?
We should show the force of the SC community and vote 5 stars in every site, breaking all kind of records, so SC2 is top ranked everywhere and all the attention goes for SC2, and then a lot of companies will be willing to sponsor SC2 tournaments, more people trying the game, more sponsored teams, more progammers, more money and investment to SC2 and E-Sports overall, but maybe this is just a dream...
so, basically, say thanks to Blizzard for all they have done and wait, its not time for any kind of boycott YET.

sadly i agree with this i coulnd honestly watch/play bw for another 10 more years

ur way too optimistic dude.
i mean i was optimistic about the beta, but the whole "everything will be fine, i mean come on, its BLIZZARD!" idea isnt as sure fire as we used to think.
sc2 is going down the shithole.
and i like that you use the "no monthly fees" arguement which applies to about 1% of all games of all time. so yes blizzard. ty for not making us pay for one game over and over and over. you are too kind.

its like..........amazing and crazy how they can not have a subscription..its almost like they arent releasing 3 full priced games...that are campaign updates, and a refreshing of the multiplayer.

Do you really want eSports to grow?
tbh we don't need sc2... If it was a crappy game no one would buy it. sc1 would continue to be eSports.
Now we have a sc2 that doesnt suck, it has its flaws but its still just a beta. The problem is not the game, its the surrounding. Bnet2.0 is not good and it looks like it will stay that way.
What happens now, is people try to threaten blizzard, so they bring the obviously needed changes. I'm sure the number of people boycotting sc2 is very small, so dont be afraid. Players will not be the problem, the only one who hinders the growth of eSports and sc2 as an eSports title is blizzard! Let's just hope they are not after the quick money. ( but after much more money they can make with just a few changes -.- )

they didnt let kespa handle it, they had no idea esports would grow so big back then so didnt wanna invest anything into it. Now that the esports scene is at its prime blizz wants the whole pie to itself even though the company did absolutely NOTHING to foster its growth

The Blizzard that made Brood War is gone, and I see no reason to thank Activision Blizzard for anything.

Isn't that what they've been doing for a while now, in a way?
1. Set the contract term for using its games to 1 year 2. Prior approvals about all league operations such as contracting sponsorship, marketing materials, broadcasting plan 3. License fee for running of league and all license fee of sponsorship inducement 4. Ownership of all broadcasted programs, program videos 5. Right to audit KeSPA

They are the ones ruining massive ESPORTS potential.

Lol, if people don't like the game people will simply not buy it...

Btw OP you make it sound like Blizzard is the e-sports. SC2 propably wouldn't exist without e-sports.
The blizzard that made BW is different from this money-hungry SC2-maker Blizzard.
|
lol sc2 is killing e-sports
and Blizzard never even gave a penny to real E-sports, which is all handled by korea

the dude said no chat room, no cross realm play

WoW already has survived for so long, and yes I believe Blizz has enuff money already made with WoW and by selling games already...if they didn't waste money developing shitty b.net 2.0 they'd released the game probably last year.
tbh i don't care about SC2 and its future as long as it doesn't affect the BW scene lol :<
AMEN
I can care less about some shitty game that's not going to live up to our expectations
|
KeSPA did more for esports than blizzard.
But blizzard is the one who gave us the esports to begin with.
Now it seems like Blizzard has come back to try and kill everything KeSPA has done for esports and i'm definately against that
