I've heard a lot of complaints about battle.net 2.0 and the custom games list.
The one I haven't heard before, though, is my own.
How the blazes are niche maps supposed to find players?
The interface doesn't allow you to:
- Look for several maps at once.
- Play some map that you never have seen before until it happens to scroll by your screen because it looks interesting.
Now people have probably complained about these before, but I'd like to point out that these things are BAD for maps that are "niche" or just aren't extremely popular. Because as a joiner I can't go "Yes someone hosted my favorite map let's go!" and as a hoster no one will join my map unless they specifically pick it out from the bottom of the "popular" list.
Moreover, there's not even a way to browse maps just to look at what's published out there. I have to enter random things into search. Otherwise I'm just stuck with whatever the masses feel is coolest at the moment.
This, combined with all the usual Bnet 2.0 complaints, just makes me want to take a baby kitten and beat it to death with my shoes in front of the eyes of whoever's responsible for this, screaming "LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE WORLD, IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANTED?!"
